the passenger side fits without to much trouble but it looks like it is a little bit close to the firewall the driver side looks like it is going to interfere with the steering shaft as you can see in the pic.

Still waiting to see if anyone has pics of the AC compressor reloction bracket, and where to find it at.
This is a pic of the ac bracket. You buy it at hotrodlane.cc but its not cheap.

It also doesn't use the Factory A/C compressor. You have to get a Sandon unit.
There are other options that use the factory LS1 compressor.

Also, an update to oil pans.... LS2 pan will work with a little more cutting of the frame. The pictures show that it really fits rather well. I need to do a little more trimming and then start strengthening it back up. I wish I hadn't already cut it for the truck pan. Oh well, nothing I can't fix.
Excellant job on that header, can't tell from the factory built .Hows that oil pan working for you?

Haven't worked on it lately. I was trying to sell it last week, but that didn't work out. Looks like I'll finish it now. I'll let you know about the pan. I'm sure it's going to work well, just need to cut a little more out of the crossmember, and then reinforce it.

I am planning to swap over to a hydraboost setup out of an Astrovan. A lot of the bagged and body dropped guys do it for tire clearance but would serve the same purpose for us. Hell, Ford did it on the 96-up Cobras to clear the 4V heads, lol.

cheaper way to get out of it is to look for a brake booster off a chevy malibu or something like that. The brake booster bolt pattern is the same on the firewall and the master cylinder as it is on the S10 booster. Only thing you have to change is the rod. What I did for that is I just cut the rod off the malibu booster and welded the S10 end onto it. Here are pics to compare the difference between the two. stock S10 booster Malibu booster

Kosuth,
Are you using the factory s10 Clutch master? Did you just splice it with the hydrolic throw out? I am about to swap my ls1 and t56 into my automatic 4.3L. Will the cruise control box get in the way to put it in?

i was looking at this one company that changes the angle of the brake booster and clutch master cylinder so instead of it being in the engine compartment its in the dash. alot of airbagged guys are doing, i am thinking of doing so also.

Does anyone know if a Tahoe or Silverado fuel pump can be fitted to an s10 tank? Im hoping to get started on the fab work next week after the frame comes back from being blasted.I'm going to stay with the 5.3 oil pan and put the $ into something else besides after thinking about it I'd rather cut the back instead of the top of the cross member it will be less prone to flex during cornering and after hearing about everyone's hassles with the other header options I just ordered the 1.5's from JTR they should be fine for a stock 5.3. I'm syked to maybe see some progress after looking at a disassembled truck all winter. thought I'd keep this thread going looked like it was slowing down
