Default Using truck accessories

I'm trying to use the truck accessories myself. My power steering pump clears the steering box no problem. Mines a 2005 5.3 from Suburban going into 96 4x4 Blazer with front diffferential removed(going 2x for now)Until I learn how to tig aluminum. I'm trying to notch the frame for the AC compressor right now. It looks like if I remove the stock bracket and just bolt to the block it will work in the stock location, with some homemade brackets.Have you got your wiring done yet? If so did you do it yourself or send it off?

Were you able to retain all of the factory gauges and stuff? Got any pictures under the hood?

In mine I was able to retain all the factory gauges....it works out great really. If you want photos of the underhood of mine...I can snap a few over the weekend and post them up. The only thing I dont have is A/C hooked up yet....it will be in the next month or so I hope. But yeah the gauges hook up very easily...especially if you have the old DRAC/VSSB system like I did Even the cruise is plug and play that way.

breaking the speedo? it doesn't break when you go over 100, it just hits a stopper.
I used to have a small digital speedo on my pillar that mirrored the speedo in the dash and went well beyond just for fun.

If I really need to know if I am going over 85...I have an Aeroforce scan guage in the Pillar pod...so I can see how fast I am really going. But it keeps that sleeper look alot of us guys go for. Plus I think stock gauges are just fine looking...easy to read....and free...they are already there

here is a question i have been meaning to ask, has anyone looked at the time difference to do the swap with a/c as compared to one without a/c? provided everything goes well on both, im worried about having mine done before race season ends, and granted im not putting a/c in it, im not sure how much of a gain in how easy it will be to complete(with little emphasis on easy) as opposed to notching and boxing the frame?

Default time difference with AC

Maybe a days work notching the frame and another day to find hoses that will fit if you don't have them already. Couple of hours to flush, evacuate and recharge AC. Having AC working in Arkansas when it's 105F and 90 %humidity, priceless.

Picked up transmission for mine yesterday, 9,000 miles on salvage trans from same year suburban as engine. Also picked up tubing and collectors for building headers. Using GMPP flanges and 1 3/4 16 guage tubing and collectors from Schoenfeld headers in Van Buren Arkansas. They're on the internet and prices are very reasonable, plus they're only an hour away. Hope the plug is Okay seeing as they only sell dirt track headers for sale.

F'n SWEET Deez I'm glad some of us are getting stuff done. I've been busy with the new born. Hopefully I'll get going and finish the suspension and start looking for a MOTOR. They'll have the whole L92 thing figured out by then I hope.
