i have never used a fast so i cant really compare.

the mega i have cost about $330 asembeled from a few places. it works good for fueling and for most cars ignition is prety easy too. i am happy with mine expecialy for the price.

the only negative i can say about the megasquirt and this may apply to the other stand alones as well is.. the unit is made to run just about anything. that means it may not be configured to run what you have. you have to do some research to see what minor mods or steps are required to do whatever it is you want to do. there "might" be a bit of a steep learning curve right at first to get it to work. once it is in and fired up the tuning is really simple and fast.

Yeah that negative is prety much any stand alone. Ive heard that about the fast that when ordered it comes completely blank with nothing on it. You can get it configured to what you have but of course cost more money. Thanks for the info!

This is a intresting truck i found on ebay. Not the nicest s-10 but its got potential. 1 thing that caught my attention is the use of the s-10 a/c bracket on the engine, wonder if it works good and is sturdy. Can sure save alot of ppl a headache.

I think it looks jaaaaanky, the accessories dont look like they will hold and its "ghetto rigged" n there... if you are doing this swap bad4point3ss dont do that to yourself please! do it right the first time... it might take a week of searching and another week to have the money for the vette brackets and accessories at most, but thats better than worries/unrelieability and the couple of weeks of work to "re-fix" the problems you made for yourself...

btw he tells you in the discription its a janky setup and it vibrates...

girls like the vibration of the road scraping the frame not your a/c compressor... rofl

I'm working on one right now. Mine is a 99 Bravada. Has a LQ4 6.0L & 4L80E out of an '04 Silverado and a custom NV246 transfer case with no low range (basically its a NV146, which has never been offered).

It has run, but I've got it apart right now. I've got an oilpan / remote oil filter feed leak, so I've got the front axle yanked out so I can get the oilpan out & repaired.

I've also got a few little problems with the trans that I need to wrap up. Not locking up the TCC, I think its electrical / electronic. I've got 3 different DTC's

I'm running AWD for traction issues, not for wheelin'. Ultimately, I hope to add additional power with a power adder (Blower or Turbo). Parish is my Hero!

I've been working on this fairly hard since April. And spend a fair bit more than I'd have liked (I think I've got somewhere north of $7k in the conversion, but I've lost count). Not for the faint of heart or for somebody with weak fabricating / mechanical skills.

I didnt read the part where he said it all vibrated haha oh well seemed like a good idea. Im doing all the reaserch so that i can do everything right the 1st time cause i know its gonna be alot of money. As for the s-10 on ebay id give him maybe 3500 for it cause it does have potential.

rofl... I have more then that because i have gotten almost everything new... except some of the 4.3 parts and the a/c compressor from a camaro... i think i have about 9 g's into this project and i still have not started nor have all of the stuff... im thinking around 11 - 12 g's by the time im done but at least it will all be done right with new shi!... soon as im done with this innovative suspension is doing a rx7 irs... they are going to back half the whole truck for $4800 so it can get low... then its on to more shi!

ok, so i pretty much decided to go ahead and buy the corvette accessory brackets, since i alread have the alternator and power steering pump, and will be using my dad's old water pump from his hawk, going to the fabricator soon to get the trans crossmember made up and measured for a driveshaft, then its waiting on the driveshaft to be made, and the wiring harness to get back, then its GO TIME

The list goes on and on for the things I still need. But sooner or later I'll have enough to start this swap. I can't exactly do it until I have most of the parts being that it's my every day driver

Yeah it would be nice wouldn't it... but i dont think anyone has taken the time to make a complete list of stuff needed... You could pay for the swap cd (http://ls1blazer.tripod.com/lid1.html) which has a list of stuff needed... Not the best ideas in the world but i suppose it would work but the cd is very informative...

If anyone does have a good list of stuff please post it i wouldn't mind looking through it...

its a 2000 blazer with a manual tranny. i know i will have to have a few more things than other people cause i am converting it to an auto while i'm doing all this.

i was told of an ls1 with computer and wiring harness with around 40k on it was for sale for 1200. is that a decent price on that. i don't think the tranny comes with it.
