I was on a really tight budget so I used a LOT of junkyard parts and used parts from Craigslist, Ebay etc.

I tried really hard to not buy new parts, but when I did I showed no loyalty to any particular vendor - I searched the web with part numbers to find who had the new parts cheapest.

engine = 1300
motor mounts = 75
intake & MSD = 650
carburetor = 275
headers = 255
starter = 60
fuel pump = 90
fuel regulator = 100
crankshaft spacer/bolts = 75
misc hoses, belt, fittings,clamps, fluids etc = 300

so $3000 or so?

you can re-use a lot of your own stuff like the radiator and maybe the hoses, battery etc.

I'm carbureted, I figured the fuel injection route might be more $$ because the tuning and flashing the ecm etc, etc

I have tried to research but havent had much luck on this intake. I am looking at maybe a alternative way to make the truck motor look better when I end up getting one and came across this one. I am not sure what it will bolt on to since I know certain truck motors need certain car intakes to mount like the lq4 needs a ls6 car intake.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVR...item255ec3facd

I know it says most truck motors but I just wanted to make sure. Is it a stock factory intake or a aftermarket one?

$300 for that intake? You can find LS6's on here for the same price. I paid $300 for mine with new gaskets, and came with the rail and injectors. Just may have to search for a little bit. Winter is coming up quick that means time to work on the hot rods.

I have some completed pictures of things like my headers I should be able to post up sometime this weekend. Having a bit of difficulty NOT wanting to drive the car haha. I still have my PCM on the passenger floor and I really don't care because I can't stop driving the car. Over 8 days straight of driving it and still not an issue I haven't fixed easily.

I didn't mean that one in particular just couldn't copy and paste a pictures of the intake so I just posted that link. I mean if I found one for 50 bux is it worth it? Meaning are there any draw backs to these intakes? If not than spending half the price of a ls6 I take would be great if I cane across one.

I thought I read that a ls1 intake wont bolt up right to a lq4? I do not have a motor yet but that is the motor I am looking at getting. Hoping its still available.

I do not have a motor yet but thats the motor I am looking at getting, a lq4. I pan to use the truck accessories, moving the one pulley under the alternator to clear the TB. Other than that, the 07 and up truck water pump. And I heard some clear the pulley near the steering box, and some getting smaller pulley to fit. So i will see when we'd get there.

The p/s pulley will clear the steering box with setback plates.

The g-body gas tank's filler neck is not centered on the gas tank. The tank is more on the drivers side of the car. The impala tank wouldnt work unless you modded the trunk floor and spare tire well.

Just came across a 04 gto 5.7 ls1, complete can hear run with under 40k. How are the accessories on them compared to the fbody/vette ones for the gbody swap? I have looked at pictures on google and the alt is on the lower driver side and looks like it may be the only possible snag.

The gto accessories are the same as the f-body other than the remote mounted p/s pump reservoir. The alternator will clear the steering box with the setback plates.

gotcha. Well I got ahold of the guy that had the 6.0 I mentioned a page or so back and he still has it. I got some info on it. Mileage is not exactly known but he says the van has its original tires on it and has half tread left. It is a 6.0 from a 2003 chevy van. Hoping its a cable driven TB so I dont have to mess with the pedal assembly and all.

It still has the whole drivetrain from rear to d/s to trans and motor. Also has the complete wiring harness and ecu. He wanted 1500 for the motor/trans wiring and ECU. Can that computer be used for a swap into my monte and eventually using a car intake? I know some computers arent able to be used for certain swaps, or atleast i was told of it.

Im going to look at it sunday in person but hes supposed to be sending me pictures today so i can post them up for you guys to investigate. One thing is that it is still in the engine cradle.

Ok guys, need your thoughts and opinions. I already know its a done deal I am getting the combo above (2003 lq4/4l80e) from the fullsize 2500 van, but theres some extras I am getting to boot with this deal. Its 1500 for the motor/trans complete wiring harness, and computer 40k on the combo. Thats great as it is for the deal....well it gets better. I get also the kmember from the firewall to the front rad support also (going straight to scrap yard for $$). Also, getting the d/s from the van. And lastly, only getting a complete 12 bolt rear out of it!

Ok so heres my question, is it worth to keep the 12 bolt to fit into the monte carlo (85 mcss) with shorten tubes, new axles and weld both rear trailing arms tabs to diff/spring mounts....or sell the complete rear for money off the price of the purchase? And same goes with the d/s....is that d/s somehting i could use since id be using the trans from it and possibly the rear? Anyways, heres pictures of the motor/trans and others!

Took as many pictures as I could for you guys. I have the vin number if needed for more info on the motor. Also but I do know it was a 2003 chevy express 2500 van. What you all think?

lq4s should come with 317 heads. 862 heads are on 4.8/5.3s. You might wanna check the casting on the block.
