Default Dad's Z/28

This is my fathers car we have put together over some time.

cold weather came around last night and took the car to the track

01 Z/28 , leather, t-tops...no race car here.
A4 (stock ) / SS4000
3.23 ( 10 BOLT )
SI5 cam
Hooker LT's, cutout and SLP dual/dual
stock head/intake/TB
SLP CAI & Lid
M/T 275/50/15 DR
BMR SFC's, LCA's & brackets, Spohn T/A, CE rear shocks

only weight out is front sway bar and Welds

NA..with TR6 plugs and 6 degrees of timing out

11.74 ET
115 mph
1.58 60ft

150 shot

10.77 ET
126 mph
1.48 60ft

The car has been a best of 1.43 60ft so far on the stock trans/rearend

We are going back out on Nov 3rd with 175 shot and try to spray it down low. We are now spraying it at 4200 rpm and as seen above it works rather well. I think we can see a 10.6 or maybe a 10.5 next time out.

John..dyno is around 380 rwhp ( nothing to crazy ) The car just works and better then expected being it is heavy.

I keep talking with my dad to remove some weight, but then say screw it. The car is more impressive being heavy and stock appearing ( besides Welds ) and going as quick as it does.

so we are just going to try little things here and there for some power

We know at some point trans/rearend , but no signs of issues yet and there are over 2 seasons with 1.5 or lower 60ft's.

Matt..look for a reply tomorrow

After talking to you Larry, I am seriously contemplating selling my PT4400 to a guy who needs a motor converter, and picking up a SS4000 and spray a 175 shot at it. I should be seeing low, low 11s in the cold air coming up as the car sits, and would love to see some low to mid 10s on the hose.

I'm glad everything is working out with your Dad & Charlie's cars. When will we see you get back in a LSX vehicle???

me back in an LSx car ? I will most likely work more with my Dad on his car. I can use it any time now as it is.

I want to get a trans in it over winter as well as a set of heads.

maybe a set of cleaned up & milled 243's
