Getting ready for Chrome Moly roll bar install. The car has only 13,000 miles and the the roof is gassing badly, (paint bubbling) due to the adhesive used to glue it on in 2002. To make it easier for the roll bar install, the original roof will be removed and a new carbon fibre roof from Midwest Chassis will be installed once roll bar is completed.
Holley Terminator X Max has arrived. The wait was worth it.
Engine dressed out and ready for the engine dyno. Once several small parts show up this week, will get scheduled
Took advantage of the holes and made some tabs to hold the wires in place.
I hope all bases are covered. Ready for the engine dyno. Heater delete bypass hoses, done, passenger side head temp sensor hole plugged, done, short belt conversion, done. .125” thick washer required behind pulley. Done and ready.
Roof is being replaced (13,000 miles on the car) due to the paint bubbling caused by the the OEM adhesive used in 2002 to attach the roof skin. Took 4hrs to get the skin off and the adhesive all removed from the metal. Then sealed with DP90. Heating a putty knife helped to get the adhesive off the metal, then use the synthetic wheel get what was left off the metal without removing metal.
Interior all out and headed off to the chassis shop for Chrome Moly roll bar (5pt, street car).
Having owned this car since 2008 and bought with 8,500 miles, it’s odd going out to the shop, not seeing or walking by it. This is only the 3rd time it hasn’t been at home in the shop. Excited to see the transformation.
