418 ci N/A MOZEZ numbers are in
Well, it has been a very trying week, but the numbers are finally in on my 418 ci MOZEZ engine. First, I want to extend a special thanks to Eric VonHentschel for designing, building, and tuning this new engine for me. Great job Eric! Anytime you can build an engine with 132% volumetric efficiency, you are doing something very right. I also want to thank Coy Miller for the use of his race engine shop, Super Flow 901 (conservative dyno), expertise, and most of all for his patience during this marathon of a dyno session. A special thanks also goes out to Cary Chouinard at Mast Motorsports for providing me with excellent products that make great power. And also Nick at American Racing Headers for custom making me a set of stainless headers to go with this engine. OK, there is a lot more potential in this engine combination but time, energy, and fuel prohibited us from continuing to test at this time. I am sure that another 30-40 hp is just around the corner with some minor changes. The engine is still a little on the rich side, we only saw a maximum of 4# of vacuum as we were not running a vacuum pump, we made all pulls on heavy break-in oil, and all runs were performed through mufflers. The engine actually made 633 torque at 7000 rpm and 907 horsepower at 7900 rpm.

I have a lot of work to do to the car before I can take it to the track. I must install the engine, fabricate a hood to clear the tall intake, modify the headers to clear the dry sump pump, wire the car with the new FAST system and PCS trans controller, change torque converter, etc. Believe me, as soon as I can get to the track, I will.

Just kidding. Hopefully you'll be ready by spring.

Thanks. I hope that you are right. I hated to hear about your crash at SGMP. Did you figure out if something on the car broke or did you hit a slick spot on the track? Good luck in getting the car back together.
