Post pics of your light weight hood. (Need ideas)
Im pretty much running out of things to remove out of my car without it being gutted. It still has all power except steering and I still have a/c. I want a light weight hood and Im leaning toward the cowl hood because they look so good on new f-bodies, but I havent decided just yet. I wanted those with aftermarket/light weight hoods to post pics of them so that I can get ideas. Im also looking for a company that has good fitment, quality is top notch, etc., but wont break my wallet. So let's see what you have and give me your recommendations on what hood company to go with. Thanks a lot.

How soon are you looking to buy a hood? I'm having a member/soon to be sponsor here (Fabricator) make me a carbon fiber Sunoco style hood. He test fits everything before he ships it so the fit and quality is right and he waranties his work for a year. The hood should be done in a couple of weeks but after he get's this first one done I'm sure he could pound them out pretty quick. Not a cheap hood but I'm sure he could make one fairly light in fibergalss. Might be something your intrested in.

Im in no hurry, but if I find something I like, I might be sooner. I first wanted to get some pics of various hoods so that I can have a better idea on what I want. So those that have aftermarket or lightweight hoods, please post pics. Thanks.

sorry, i have to say it....i find if funny that when I asked you one time about ATAPing your car you said you don't have any money for that, but you have enough money for a light weight hood, trailer/assesories, and other parts for your car???
But as far as the hood thing goes I wouldn't change hoods on your car, its an SS and should keep the SS hood, but that is just me. If you want light weight up front, look at your washer fluid bottle, battery, and suspension parts.

My father bought the trailer and is going to buy the rest of the accessories needed to haul the car. He helps me out a lot when it comes to the car. Its our project car, not just mine. I have money put away at the moment, but I plan to use that money for my rear end. I just wanted to see pics of various hoods so that I can get ideas and maybe decide on one, that way when I do plan to get one, I will know what I want. I dont understand why you let your curiosity get to you. Dont take that the wrong way, I just dont see why you post off topic. I dont have to have the money or the plans to purchase something to ask about it.
Ive removed the front swaybar, washer fluid resevoir, winshield wipers, wiper motor, power steering, ABS unit, AIR, EGR, front bumper support, cruise control, and other stuff that I cant think of off the top of my head. I already have upper and lower BMR a-arms, k-member and a Hawker lightweight battery. I asked about a hood because thats what I plan to do next as far as removing weight. I appreciate your suggestions, but most of my mods are in my sig. and if you had taken a look at it, you would of noticed that Ive already did suspension. If I came off rude in any way, I apologize. It just gets to me when someone replies with off the topic questions, suggestions, answers, etc.. I asked about hoods for a reason, because I know what I have and have not done to the car.
I like the SS hood, but I like the cowl hoods much better. Plus when you go with an aftermarket hood, its not only an appearance mod, but a weight reduction mod as well. By the way, whos car is that in the pic? Thanks.

That is our car, but we only had the cowl on for a short time. We sold it quite a while back, awesome looking hood though.
Here is one more pic from a different angle.

I have the factory looking VFN hood. Weight savings was right at 22 pounds. Quality is not good. The edges are very rough and need fiberglass work before painting.
