Default Best way to launch 6-speed on 200 shot?

Last time I went to the track, I had traction issues when I sprayed 200 off the line.My car is an M6 with 3.73 on 26 inch tires.Whats the best way to get full potential of the NOS without going to a 28 inch tire?I was thinking progressive 100 shot off the line then ramping it up to 200 shot in 2 seconds. What do u all think?i know it will turn off everytime I let off, if i dont power shift, any suggestions?

I can't imagine that you'll hook up to good with 200 shot with those little of tires.

I use to do 200 out of the hole, BUT that was with 28 and than 30, with an A3. Even when I was an M6, the most I did was 150 out of the hole, but was on 28".

Maybe Tanner can help with the M6 thing and a little more

The progressive would help. You can speed shift (barely lift and shift very very fast), vice granny or power.

I question: why are you attached to the 26" tires? With your engine (and as long as the rest of your drive train and suspension is up to it) and a 200 shot, you should be in the 9's. BUT with 26" ?

Do you have any time slips?

David

As a side note, here a trend that may also help: https://ls1tech.com/forums/drag-racing-tech/693601-how-launch-6-speed.html

Dump the clutch and go!

I was cutting 1.39 60fts w/ bilstein shocks. 28 ET Drags w/ 4.10 gears. 250’ish worth of bottle.

Honestly I would do a 28" tire.

With 507HP I am trapping 131+mph, with 10HP more PLUS 200 shot you should be close to 150mph if I was to guess. At 7000rpm with 3.73 you will only see 145mph.

A few years ago, a 75 wet-shot took me from 122mph to 128mph. 6mph on a 75shot, a 200 shot should be worth 16-18MPH, and your car should be trapping 131 or 132 as it is N/A. That is damn near 150mph, and I doubt you will spin a motor on a 200shot to 7000rpm, so the way I see it you will run out of gear. Plus, even with my limited 5 years drag racing experience, I don't see how you can hook on a 26" slick. Your 408 is making 475Ft Lbs Torque, with a 200 shot that is probably an additional 300Torque easy. How do you expect to put down almost 800Ft Lbs of Torque with a 26" tire?

What do you have against a 28" tall slick?

Why do people think a 26'' tire can't hook a h&c n.o.s m6 combo ? My last year combo was a 346ci,463hp 414 tq (mustang dyno)n/a m6 car. when the 150hp nos put hp to 595 & 656tq and on my M&H 26x11.5x15 cheeter slick, i pull 1.34 60 foots. 1.42 60 foots n/a. i also have 4.11 gears in the rear. this year i'm on a 402ci w/200 to 250 shot and will try a 27'' tire, but no 28'' tire for me. Now...how i luanch the car. i stage real low at 4,000 rpm's and dump the clutch. I have no progressive controller just a window switch. N/A i luanch at 6,500rpm's. if you can't hook try the M&H tire,i've tried hoosier and M/T's and for me they did not work. goodluck to ya bro. www.intercotire.com

This was my best time N/A, 10.71et , 1.41 60ft , @127mph
Best time 100 TNT nitrous shot,10.23 , 1.50 60ft , @136mph I could feel the tires spinning halfway down the track.I was also thinking of a 27".I have nothing against a 28" that why Im asking to get feed back of whats the best to do,I wont probably have 28's till next month,so 26 is the way to go for now.

If I sell my 26's,then buy 28's would it work 200 shot off the line with 3.73's and eliminate the progressive?

I ran 10.70 @ 128 with a 26" M/T tire with a old *** H/C setup [396rw] and a 75 shot. With 4.11's I was running out of gear. The car pulled 1.41 60's with that setup and I never got out of the 1.5 N/A.

I just think that he will run out of gear with that power and gearing. Plus a 28 will always gook better then a 26.

just my $0.02 again...

You are definitely going to run out of gear with 4.11's and a 26" tire.

Since you got your answer let me hijack your thead. I'm gonna be using marine02ss 26's on my cam only car with an A3/4.10's gears and I wana spary a little 150shot. My previous passes on 26's traped around 6600rpms 115mph and a 11.40et.
