Understand...Just think it's an insane rule. I'm a HUGE safety proponent. I hope you have a really good fire system in your car. Personally, burning to death is one of my worst fears...

 

yeah just like 700" motors and 4 stages of nitrous in a "stock suspension" class but hey we're ok with it.

 

Yea...Seems pretty goofy. I'm glad I'm building my car for fun. Luckily, there are plenty of racing series the I'll fit into. Want to at least get a few "official" wins and some gas money...LOL

Man you have really been around the horn. We are all looking forward to seeing it going again. What is your projected timeline as of now?

 

I've got a few things that popped up when we put the motor in that we'll be addressing shortly. Moving the dry sump back 1.5" created a bunch of problems but the mount is solid.

 

looks real good... if you dont mind what size of converter are you gonna run now?

 

same converter as end of last year-ATI 10.5'' Blown Outlaw converter(the one that we'll never get to spool behind a smallblock)

 

Got a few things done today, I wasted an hour trying to figure out how to plumb the dry sump so it worked with everything in the chassis but I know how to do it just need to order some more fittings monday. I pulled the tranny and clearanced the converter, it was alittle too tight for my taste in the crank so I took a few thousands off the snout. I got the fuel tank mounted up front. We also got the bumper hung on the car and a hole cut for the new turbo position. I made a fiberglass piece that fits onto the front of the bumper so it eliminates the radiator hole and the fog light holes.

 

why is that ?? what size stall converter do you recomend in order to build boost off the line?

 

We were told that the converter we had wouldn't work with a small block but its what we wanted, in fact we heard that the same converter was behind a 632" sporting twin 94s and the guy had problems getting it up on boost. Our 2nd hit on the new ultra tight converter went a 1.25 to the 60' which isnt bad but its not where its going to be once we get back out. The car is lazier than a 2 dollar ***** for the first 30'. After we called Chris and told him the car came up on boost relatively quickly and was easy to stage, Chris said well you've got something figured out that no one else has.

We're going to use 10-32 SS cap bolts to attach to the bumper, we got some floral foam so we can make a nice radius into the turbo.

 

With the right tuneup you can spool any converter Don't let anyone b/s ya!

 

tuneup is only a piece of the pie...the correct camshaft is a much bigger piece...

 

But there is a piece that is a bigger piece than the cam.

Made another order for fittings and some small stuff to finish up the fuel system. My dad is heading down to virginia to pickup 3 cases of Brad Penn Racing Oil, we got the front bumper mocked up today and she looks tough, will post some pics once the fiberglass dries.
