hmm was it uphill from the tank sump to the pump?
i have today just starte to re-do my water tank and pump to be more memphis friendly.
how many amps does that pump draw?
just as i knew it would happen, my simer pump (80 bux) has started leaking externally right on time with me opening my mouth about its reliability

We checked out 3 other cars this week, all with pumps outside the water tank, all had the same issue and the owners thought it was normal. The one with the best flow had a 2" feed hose. From what I gather the pump needs to be completely submurged to work correctly. Something weird we found, the pump was running with 1/2 tank of water, as we added water with a high pressure nozzle would caviate and the flow would almost disappear.
Couple things you need to look at.
What kind of intercooler are you running? Is it the old big style or the new Dense smaller style?
If your running the older style all you need is 20-30gpm
If your running the new style you need 55-65GPM
Two pumps I like are the Rule 2000(Rule #10 and the Rule 3800 14A), I've heard alot of good things about the rule pumps.
I used Hose from Home Depot that looked like it was for a pool, it was black with blue ribs, very flexible and would not kink like that junk clear hose.
If I did mine over I would do it exactly like mine is now, transcooler in the bottom, either the 10 or 14A pump, 1/4" barb for a puke line from the radiator and vent it for good measure.
Just information on my old setup:
I had a 1.5" aluminum U bend feeding the pump, the pump was directly below the tank with no hard turns to get to the pump.

finally found this pic
now you have the pump standing up (in bilge fashion) as opposed to on its side. i bet that was what did it.
my current pump is only 600gph so i am thinking the rule 1500 would be a big step up in the right direction.
now i just want to find a tank that sits nice in place of one of my back seat buckets.. dunno which side the weight needs to be on tho. big enough to hole the 1500 w/ bilge set up inside it.
i want to set it up so i can take the tank and pump set up out entirely when street driving. with quick disconnects etc.

We laid the pump down like it was under the chassis and worked the same. Any of those pumps would work. 5 gallon tank is perfect.

Phil: Is your tranny cooler submerged inside your a/w water tank? (from the way i read it above).
Also you mentioned your puke tank etc from your radiator. You dont have anything connected from the cooling/radiator system to the a/w do you? (trying to get a clear idea of what you were explaining above)

We got the updated computer in the car and man it made a serious difference. Now we can get to our launch boost in 1.8 seconds on the foot brake and plugging the transbrake just maintains the pressure. This is the first time I have ever seen my boost level off, we've got a 4.5psi spring and when it gets there it stops building boost exactly like it should.
Here is what the car sound like on both stages...

Phil and I just figured out why his corvette was so slow!!!!!!!
It was powered by two pussies!
Heres one of them
The other one went to a good home. If anybody is interested in this kitten it's free to a good home. I have two already but will keep her if nobody wants it.
