Just bought a Midwest Chassis 8.50 certified, 8 point Chromoly cage kit. The following is what each component weighed in at:

Midwest Chassis Chromoly 8.50 certified kit:
Main Hoop: 13.2 lbs
Halo: 9.2 lbs
Pillar Bars: 10.8 lbs (5.4 each)
Door Bars: 10.8 lbs (5.4 each)
Crossbar: 3.4 lbs
Tunnel Bars: 3.4 lbs (1.7 each)
Rear Bars: 8 lbs (4 each)
Crotch Strap: 1.2 lbs (additional to the kit)
Cage Plates: 7.2 lbs

Total Weight: 67.2 lbs

Strange Lightweight Pro Race Spool, Part# D1540 11.5#

Shipping weight from Summit was 12#, so it's probably 11.5 (lots of packing material/cardboard)

I thought optic armor was more like a 30 lb savings. is this right?
what is a carbon fiber t-top insert? did you mean the carbon fiber coupe conversion or some kind of carbon fiber panel that replaces the glass only?
