ET Guess?
Okay, everybody hates these, but I'm don't really care what the car will run, I just want to make sure I have the proper setup
402rwhp NA plus 150 shot off the line, clutch dumps with my 2 step
MT et streets in the back, 28x11.5 and 26x4 upfront on Bogarts
Rear suspension is all adjustable and Chromoly with a Sphon TA
full weight plus 6point cage, plus my fat ***
I need to know what it will be like when I launch the car, as this will be my first year with any kind of setup like this. I put QA1 adjustable shocks all the way around, stock springs in the back and 300lb QA1 springs in the front.
I want to set the spring height/ride height on the front of the car before I send it off to get alinged. I need to figure out how much room to leave between the top of the tire and the top of the fender well.
I know I can always adjust it later, but I read it was best to set ride height before you get an alingment.
What do you guys suggest based off my car, and how much room to leave?
I don't know if I'll lift the tires off the ground or just get pushed into my seat lol
either way, still fun

If you have 10 sec power it'll pull the tires easy, especially with nitrous, first thing is you make your first couple passes off the nitrous, see how it feels get used to doing the burnout and stage the car, if it goes straight spray the bitch and run the car, if it seems like it is doing a big wheelie, keep it floored and let off the nitrous, when you take off it feels like a roller coaster, except it slams you in the seat a little harder.
Remember don't let off the gas let off the nitrous, you don't want to f*ck your front end up!

keeping on the gas will set the front end down softer then?
so how much space should I leave? i don't want the front tires to slam up into the upper fender well
I'm goina start N/A
then probably 75 then 150

10.8 perfect pass and if you have sprayed the car before and know how fast the shifts come up, and high 11's if you have trouble shifting in time and screw up the runs (which is what I do with stick cars)...

I admit to being dumber than everyone on this board, old too. Everyone prior to my post thinks everything is going to come naturally for you. "I would shake a new car new driver down with a few passes before I tried that ***** to the wall pass."
Good luck I hope you do better than anyone has said you should do.

Please do something for an old guy. You said all this stuff is new to you. I don't know where you intend on making these full 1/4 passes in Ohio. Hopefully it has a long shut down? Hopefully nothing will brake. Hopefully everything you've installed works. In my eyes a 1/4 mile is measured in a bunch of different things besides the FULL PASS. Launch, first 60' etc. etc. I ask that you forget the reaction time. Go when you're ready. Get used to confirming the rpm that achieves the best 60'. Get those sounds mentally into your head. Figure out when you can SAFELY hit the 150 shot of nitrous.

I don't have the ***** to just go up there and hit the juice. I'm going to start with just a few light slow runs down the track to make sure of everything. Then work on launches for awhile, then work on shifting. Then when I'm comfortable I will slowly start the juice. 75 shot up to the 150. We get the track for 6 hours so I'm not rushed at all. If I don't feel comfortable, I wait until next time.
I guess I'm different in the fact that, if I suck at drive and I only get high 11's...good enough. But if I know my car can do 1?.XX then that makes me happier.
I just want to make sure I have my front ride height set to the right adjustment before I start to pull the tires. Is there a guideline on how much room to leave?

My Camaro is A3 and runs 10.dohs@133-134 on a 150 shot, and I'm 3300 raceweight. I think I have a bit more in it, but I don't see a full weight M6 at 3800 raceweight running that good. I think Bill's 11.1@127 is what I would think. I think high 10's would be on at least a 1.5 and you'd have to hit all the gears.

For reference, at 3100lbs with 340hp, I went 11.40. 4,000 rpm foot brake on a 8" slick.
