Default Car wont hook without weight in the rear well...need some advice

Upon launching at the track the car bites really hard and then a couple feet out it unloads and i lose traction...I think the rear is still torqueing over even with the spohn rear sway bar...looks like it is time to go with the rear drag bar that is adjustable...

only way i can get it to bite and stay hooked is with some weight in the back my sub, and 2 amps around 65lbs...ideally i shoulbe be able to hook without that added weight...

best 60ft with weight was a 1.40-1.42...without i am mid 1.5s...

on the plus side i still ran a 11.13 at 121mph with a 1.55 60ft in +800 DA

needs some advice...i already have qa1-r shocks in the front and tried a couple setting with not much luck...

videos

kinda hard to see it unload so you might have to click on the high quality and full screen...

nope stock shocks in the rear...that is why i got front ones but now it looks like the fronts probably would have been alright and i should have gotten rear shocks...

well the rear shocks are to soft a drag shock will stiffer the rear so the car doesn't squat so much and bounce back up to quickly and unload the tires ... hope i said that right lol..

i would leave the tq arm for now but you still needed the fronts so it wasn't a bad move there just as important as the rear ..... start with the rear shocks and drag swaybar..

I would invest in some Afco double adjustable shocks and some LCA relocation mounts. Call Madman to get the right parts and some good advise.

What's happening is the car hooks, then when the front sets down it's unloading the rear, and it is rolling over.

I would first get a swaybar on the car that you can preload, there's several out there, and a set of adjustable shocks so that you can control what the back of the car is doing.

Adding weight is a tuning tool, but IMO it's a last resort situation you're always better off if you can get away without adding any.

Chris, this is gonna sound ghetto, but if you drill a hole in your existing shocks they basically turn into old school "50/50" shocks, which might help until you can get the rear deal.

You are not fast enough to need a drag bar that is welded on all four points, that's the nice thing about the Spohn and BMR drag bars, they are a compromise for street/strip cars.

What kind of shocks up front? I run the QA1 R's up front, keeps the nose up and keeps the tires from unloading. I've been running the rears at 6 so like 50/50.

yeah i think i am going to get a spohn like my dad has...works pretty good too...dont wanna weld yet since i know the 10 bolt will be going soon...

i have stock rear shocks as of now...i still need to cut a coil off the rear spring too...

cut a coil?
Your car should be fine w/ the swaybar you have at your power level.
Get a passenger side airbag for the spring, set the front shocks at "0" and try it like that.
You may need a set of rear adjustable shocks but I think you will see an improvement making the changes I suggest.
Only because they worked for me when I was running your times.
Looks like you already have an airbag from you sig, what psi? I used to have mine at 35.

Don't drill them!! The car will just bounce unloading the car much worse than it is now!!

If you drill them out it doesn't make the car leave like it has 50/50's it makes it like there is no shock at all and just a bouncy *** spring. Trust me, I tried it one weekend goofing off at the track and ended up wasting my entry fee. Unloading was terrible!!!

yeah i tried exactly that...air bag was at 35-40 psi front shocks set to 0, then i tried 4 and no difference...

also to the person who posted on tires pressure i am usually at 20psi with my drag radials...changing the tire pressure didnt help either went up and down...my only options i see are changing the tq arm placement up or down near the trans (current at -2*), rear shocks, or a drag bar...considering my dads car does have rear shocks and he is pulling 1.40s h/c/i and leaving straight with the spohn drag bar that kinda rules out the shocks
