ported 5.3 heads
custom Va Speed cam
stock rockers
LS6 intake
Stock ported tb
Pacesetter headers and y pipe

We take wagers before we run em all. Shawn took 475. I took 480. It made 481 on the very first pull. We both were pretty shocked! It worked it's way right up to the high 490s. I let it sit for 20 minutes, and came back and she did the 502 pull.
Temp on the dyno was about 92 degrees. She was a bit heat soaked from hot lappin.

i have no info on the heads-they were on the customers old 383 and we just did a good valve job and new springs-the thing you need to look at is the combo, none of these parts by themselves is great, but when you put them together they work great

What's ironic is the driveability is incredible for what it is.
BTW, with the 4.11 gears, this thing is a beast!!

I don't think a "max output engine" includes a 78mm throttle body, LS6 intake, and ported 5.3 heads. That's pretty much all you need to know. The cam selection isn't too big to kill the bottom end. We had no intention of this being a max effort build. Hell, if we wanted to make some power, we would have at least put a FAST 90 on it. This is a perfect example of the sum being greater than the parts.

I'm guessing the cam is bigger than what they want us to beleive.
People that don't post up the full specs of a build are hiding something somewhere. It's almost pointless to even make a post about it.

Last time I checked, the cam is the heart of the engine. It could have a TR 224 or a T-REX, at least we could see what that combo did instead of trying to guess what the main component specs are.

I don't get it.
I saw the movie though. I enjoyed it.
I can see wanting to hide the cam specs on a super optimized setup that puts down some kind of magical number but as the OP stated, this is just a budget build and he doesn't even have the flow numbers on the heads to say that they applied some sort of special knowledge to the cam selection. Without a rough idea of the cam that is in this car, we cant even envision what this combo sounds or drives like. Basically making this thread as worthless as **** on a bull.
