Default 408ci stock LS3 heads/intake dyno #'s

Finally got the 408 finished up after 5 months of headaches and plenty of bulls*#t. Put it on my buddies chassis dyno at his shop and got her tuned last weekend. Set-up is:

408ci LQ9 Iron block 11.0 compression
Callies Crank
Callies Rods
Wiseco pistons
235/243 651/649 114+4 TSP (thanks to John Janz)
LS3 heads stock
LS3 intake stock
95mm TB
78mm lid
TSP 1 7/8 headers
2.5 inch cut-out
Speed Density with 2 bar map
through a 9"
516/507

Set-up made big power just about everywhere and should pick up a few more with better intake and lid. My tuner told me he just did a 418ci with expensive cathedral port heads and ported fast TB and Intake made 525/505 with a cam more aggressive than mine. These LS3 heads make big power and with relatively small cams, and for the price you can not go wrong.

Why do you have a 2 bar map? You going to add something to the car? Nice results, must be a blast to drive.

I did comparison test dyno runs dynojet vs dynopack with same car in the same day , same fuel only hour diffrent car made 13rwhp more on dynojet so you're close to 530rwhp 520rwtq

Go to a track and look at your mph vs weight of car and that will give you the real power. I had a dyno say i made 424hp on an old set up,but the car only ran 12's at 113mph......dyno was wrong.

Very nice numbers with unported LS3 heads! With the cam specced like that I bet it has some decent driveability as well. I'll be interested to see what track times would be like with that kind of torque curve.

Damn!
Impressive to say the least, just the stuff I wanna see since I'll be going this route as well but it's a stroker 416 Ls3.
Congrats on a stout set up.

i want to do the same build but with around 12.1 compression with the numbers i see u got i think i may be able to do what i thought i could is make around 550 to the wheels, mine will be ported slightly and a victor jr intake and dont no if i want a carb or a 4150 tb this should eliminate the 78mm air lid issues may use a much more agressive cam seeing as the heads flow much greater than the ls6 heads

Default 415 stroker

i have almost the same setup but mine is a 415 lq9 and my cam is 238/246 at 605/608 lift and 113lsa also touched up the exsaust port alittle. i dont have 1 7/8 headers though. those numbers are sweet and thats what im hopin to get at the wheels when i get mine tuned. post up some track results of your weight and mph e/t mine ran 123mph without a dyno tune and a bad tranny and 3600lbs

A guy I know built a 364 with 10.8 cr, little bigger cam than yours, stock l92 heads and stock l76 intake and that car made 500 SAE through a 6 speed and 12 bolt. If I could do it all over again, I would have just done something similar instead of spending big money on my TFS.

Those are great numbers but why the 2.5 inch cutout? you really should be running a 4 inch y pipe with that size motor.

stock ls3 heads and intake are great the best news is with your build you definetly left some room to grow which isnt a bad thing, once you get use to your hp and learn how to drive it you will want to squeeze some more out of it.

i bet with some port work on that intake to match the 95mm tb and port match the runners and port those ls3 heads you will get 540hp especially if you ditch that small cutout and move to a 4 inch y and cutout

I agree why spend money in big heads when almost everyone doing one of these builds looks to be in the 500-550rwhp range and that can be done easily with stock casting.

im pretty sure ls3 castings have made it into 600rwhp ranges on little more extreme builds.

I feel the extra 1500 that it would take to get a set of TF or AFR would better be spent on 150 n20 kit vs the 30 i might gain by switching.

dont get me wrong i think AFR TF and those other guys make some bitchin heads that cant be rivaled and will make more power hands down but when
ls3 and l92 heads hit the market they bridged the cam between the stock and aftermarket head market.
