Awesome! That's very impressive.
My complaint is the people talking about LSx's looking silly and weak. Ok, well Ford guys, how long did it take you compete with GM without a supercharger? kthx
Now I wanna see what Whipple and KB can do with these motors!

Nice peak number. Not to impressed with torque though. Quite disapointing as I thought these things would be stronger in the low/midrange with a setup like this. That's where displacement comes in.

I don't think that Ford will ever surpass GM in engine power production or speed. They can make a product that is fun to drive but when it comes to speed GM has always been cheaper to go faster. My car consistently runs 12.05 - 12.1 at full weight with minimal mods, drag radials, and no tune. I have never been to concerned with power numbers as long as the time slips are low.

OEM cold air, OEM converter, OEM 3.15 gears, OEM 19" rear tires. Zero weight reduction. I even had the jack and spare in it and about 1/3 of a tank of gas.
That was with the shifts at 6950-7000. Another guy has gone 11.97 in similar conditions with his shifts at 7300 and drag radials.
My shift points have been reset to 7300 and I'm going to try for 12.0s next week if Cecil County is open.

My 2011 5.0 Auto went 12.28 @114, with just a Tune, in -800'DA.

This is an LS site and there is more than enough reason to be proud.
Nobody invited you ford guys anyways.

Actually, that's where you're wrong. This site is for all enthusiasts that appreciate performance. No one has said Ford owners are "not invited". Your comments are very ignorant and biased towards LSX vehicles. The 5.0 is a great new motor and it's nice to have good competition. If you hate Fords, well good for you. But, you don't run this site and there are many on here that actually have both a Ford and an LSX powered vehicle. Plus, you've been on TECH for a less than two months, so perhaps a little respect to those that have been here a lot longer than you. So, basically chill.....

Actually I really like my LS T/A. It nice and quick especially for minor amount of mods. That's one of the things that make the LS so special. You can do a few things to it and make it move out / be super reliable and drive it anywhere. But I'm not goin to sit here and deny that the new 5.0 motor is badass. Sorry if that hurt your feelings.

whats funny is how everyone is getting all buthurt (either for or against) about a dyno. I look it at this way... there was no way the first heads cam 5.0 WASNT going to make 500 rwhp one way or another. Its just a dyno from a shop... sheeshus
No point in praising nor discrediting something that isnt yet common place... Wait until there are a lot more setups/samples out there to see what it common place... one car with only a dyno that we dont even know the correction factors used. it is what it is. If this can be replicated time and time again then it will be impressive for sure!
And for those idiots who think the 5.0 makes the LS series look silly... For maximum N/A performance and with all with the options the lsx series has, its gonna be quite a feat for an all out N/A 5.0 engine to even stay close in a horsepower race with an all out LSX based solely on the displacement you can get out the lsx platform. Forced induction could go either way and is all about the money. Bolt on vs bolt should be compared to ls3 only, either that or ls7. take your pick. but dont try and compare a STOCK head cam ls1 vs 5.0. the 5.0 makes more power and is 15 years newer.

Wrong. I invited them. The question is...who invited you?
Very impressive power from a relatively small cube engine. There is a lot
of potential that we haven't seen yet since the aftermarket is just ramping up.
What's really nice is that Ford finally put out a good automatic trans.

its funny how the new mustang get **** for making 500hp and 420 tq but in this fairly new post a "ls1" car made less hp locked up too, but everyone says WOW great numbers! it is a nice car but, too a lot of ppl here its prob not to street-able like you say the 5.0 isn't. over .600 lift fly cut pistons sd tune 4000 stall. and revs to 7000 with 40more bad *** LS ci. IMO thats what you should compare it with not a large motor like the ls3 or 7 of course it makes more power especially in a low rpm street race motor..but i'm still an Lsx fan
