I normally don't post many engine combinations here anymore, but this one surprised me for sure. A lot of attention to detail was spent in the planning stages of this build so that the customer could capitalize on parts he already had and make the most of them.
Run down on the combination:
C5 Corvette platform with TR-6060 swap and 4.10 differential
-4.080" bore
-4.0" stroke
-6.125" rod length
-11.6:1 Static Compression
-Livernois Stage 3 243 heads milled .030" additional port work performed by Thompson Motorsports
-Comp Ultra Gold 1.7 ratio rockers
-PAC 1207X springs 1.72" installed height 190psi seated /475psi open
-Custom Trend 5/16" dual tapered 3/8" diameter .135" wall 7.32" length push rods
-Comp Cams "Short Travel" hydraulic roller lifters @.030" pre-load
-Custom Tick Performance Cam Motion 247/251 .660/.640 112+2 camshaft with Tick Performance proprietary lobe design
-Fast 102 unported
-NW 102 unported
-Kooks 1.75" x 3.0" long tube headers
-Kooks Off Road 3" X-pipe
-Corsa Tiger Shark 2.5" cat-back exhaust

I know it's not outrageous HP/TQ figures, but what impressed me the most was that this was done with stock casting 243 heads albeit worked over and 1.75" primary diameter long tube headers.
I was also impressed by the torque this combination produces. 400rwtq from jump street, 450rwtq@4000rpm and it holds 500rwtq for 1000rpm. Should be a very fun street car rowing gears!

im planning to do the same build with tea stg2 ls6 heads with ported fast 92 that i have.wonder how much more power would he pick up if he had a super vic accufab 4150 and a camahaft to match

With an appropriate camshaft paired with that manifold and good valve control you could easily carry that higher peak and extend the usable operating range another 400-800rpm.
I have several customers currently turning nitrous engines with hydraulic cams 7500rpm+ and one even turning 8000rpm through the traps in the 1/4 mile. Not with stock casting 243 heads, but in general. So it is very doable with the right components to make even more power with these heads if they are ported correctly. You would just have to turn more RPM.

Are you all using adjustable rockers with the short travel lifters...
Lastly I would not be surprise to see over 560 whp just by porting the intake.

I recommended .030" pre load hot to Frank@Corvette World. I believe his zero lash push rod length was 7.28".
You should have no problem running the short travel lifters with stock rocker arms, but you will need a different length push rod most likely.
Check with the manufacturer of whatever lifter you decide to go with. Ask them what the internal travel of the lifter is and what their recommended pre-load settings are for your block and cylinder head material.
I honestly do not know. I will have to ask.
That is also something I am unaware of. James Karger of Calibrated by Karger tuned the vehicle at Corvette World in Dallas, TX.

Hey Martin, what does the kpa drop to at wot in that combo? Do you have that info? I'm just trying to compare similar setups to mine and that one is close. I think i may have found my problem since my kpa drops steadily from 100 at 2000rpm to 91-92 by 6000 rpm to redline. Very nice results on that combo. Just proves stock castings can make just as much as expensive aftermarket castings if everything is put together just right

Nice work guys. Great combo. Martin, I didn't know you had your own lobe profile now. That's pretty awesome. Now you can have full control. Those 243's are putting it down for sure. Do you know the cc's.

I believe they are around 58cc and a .040" gasket is being utilized.

Nice. I was actually wondering what the runner cc's were. I am guessing they are in the 240's with being able to support 418 cubes and 550rw. It may have been listed but what size valves were used? Is that a 243 head record?
I have taken what you have taught me and designed what I think is the perfect cam for my cts-v. I am going to pull the heads and see if I can beat my old flow numbers. I will run the specs by you later.

yeah there is a 40-50 hp variance between 4 different dynojets in my area. Dynos are not at all an accurate way to compare hp between cars in different locations. Both cars have to be on same dyno one after another to be accurate comparison.

Once the tune is nailed down it won't be terrible. I daily drove my 416 that made 575rw on three different dyno's in my area. That cam was a LSL lobed 247/254 112+2 cam. It surged around 1,200 rpm or so. That was back in 06' with a genIII controller. Tuning and computers have come a long way since then.
