There was a similar question in the internals section, only it was cam-only. I don't know about the highest hp, but the fastest car thats n/a according to Best of tech, hot ls1 engine tech magazine is a ws6 owned by Mike Klemen that runs a 9.65 at 139.21 mph. It has 538 rwhp.

so a car that put down 25% more to the wheels should be the fastest when it finally hits the track, right?

Theoretically, if it's got the same weight, proper suspension, transmission and driver - yes.

ok, then what did Mike Kleman's car weigh? The car I'm talking about is a bit heavy for a "race car" but the suspension works very well.

I don't know. However I suggest you go to the drag racing section of that forum and check out ET database for the info you need (I think they even made it a sticky).

I've been to that forum. The car hasn't gone down the track in it's current form yet. If the rain down here quits today, then it'll probably make a few passes. Otherwise, it'll be a few more weeks.

I think Vince's car just went 563 rwhp with a Futral 408.

The highest horsepower reported NA is Gordon's 418ci SR setup from Futral Motorsports when it had a M6. The next highest is a 434ci SR street application from Futral Motorsports. Both of the cars mentioned were F-bodies. The highest dyno'ing NA C5 is currently owned by Brent and his car was built by Cartek. I currently own the highest dyno'ing hydraulic cammed F-body and my car was built by Futral Motorsports. I think my record is going to come down soon. Futral Motorsports has customers already calling them to build them a similar setup like mine. Remember dyno #'s are great and they are used as a tool to show the potential of a car. They do not necessarily mean the car will run the times w/out a supporting platform.

Futral....

Gordon's FMS 418 - 612rwhp (6-speed, LS6 intake)
581rwhp (T400 FAST 90 intake)

Ray's FMS street 434 - 605rwhp (6-speed, FAST 90 intake)

Both through 12 bolt, gears and steel flywheels.

Well Gordons car is strickly race. So I am sure it dyno'd on 103 octane. The 434ci most likely dyno'd like I did on a 103/93 mix.

How about cars that have dynoed on straight 93 Octane, just the way a Mustang driver would run across it on the street.

Gordon's was on straight C16 and the 434 was 103\93 mix.

To actually do this test you would have to get ALL the CLAIMED high horsepower cars in one location. Same dyno, same time of day, and pump gas put in by independent person. If this is not done then anyone can claim anything.

Most people who race ask for a more aggressive setup. Usually that means more compression. Therefore not being pump gas friendly. Also depending on where you live will cause your compression to be lower or you to run less timing on HOT DAYS. Well I live in Florida and Futral Motorsports made it a point to keep my compression safe even though I told them I can reduce timing with the timing tuner. I even suggested running a bigger cam to bleed off compression, but Futral Motorsports told me to stick with the original plan. Which was building a potent, idle perfect, street car. Well that is what was delivered to me on June 22nd. Am I picky? Yes, I drove around with my scan tool and verified my timing was 28 degree's at WOT. No KR on pump gas in Louisiana. How do I know? I filled the car up. I drove the car all the way back to Florida using 93 octane and I saw no KR. On day two of having the car home it was especially HOT. To be exact it was 97 degrees out at 1pm. I took a friend for a ride and we both could hear knocking when I hit 5krpm on a quick blast. I pulled out my scan tool to verify. I saw 3 degrees retard. I got out of the car and used my nifty timing tuner and reduced timing to a MAX of 6 degrees. I forgot to mention I had already reduced timing that morning because I knew it was going to be hot. Anyway, I took my car for another blast and no KR. It drove perfect on 22 degree's of timing on a VERY HOT Summer day. My compression is 11.7:1. My cam is not much bigger than the Trex that is going in 346's. Allan Futral wanted to keep the low rpm tq high to maintain driveability and reduce bucking below 2krpm. I have 3.73's and I think my old 4.10 combo would have been perfect for this setup NA, but on the spray on the street, 3.73's are better.

Basically what I am trying to say is depending on the combo, location where customer lives, finances available to customer and integrity of the engine builder/tuner will determine what is pump gas friendly.

So that's the highest NA RWHP LS1 known? I guess in a few weeks the car I've been talking about will hit the track and then maybe they'll let the truth be known.

It should be obvious on which one I'm talking about.

Those are just a couple of authorized disclosures, not everyone spills the news of their setup online

I have no clue who you are talking about unless however the car is yours hmmm
