Default Stock Cubes, NA and 500RWHP, Possible?

I haven't seem many stock cubed motors over the 450RWHP or so mark but then again, I haven't looked hard either. Is 500RWHP attainable on a stock displacement motor WITHOUT a power adder?

I know TTP had a 346 500rwhp car (Kerminator), but that was when it was a 6sp.

TTP has had some close, but I'm not sure about 500rwhp. Possibly on race gas with higher compression.

Im making 507rwhp with a 346...... THRU a TH400, 6200 converter, 3" Steel driveshaft, 12 bolt w/4:88s, and 28W ET Drags.... This is with a bit of compression and a solid roller topend though Would be around 550/560ish I would imagine in street trim m6.

It seems as though with the usual H/C and bolton packages start to fall off at 450RWHP. I was just wondering if anyone got there without going radical.

Who built your motor and what kind of compression?

You need a solid roller to get there.

Yeah, it seems a power adder is the way to go. Don't the LS1 blocks usually let go about 500RWHP anyway? Weak rod bolts.

Jim Sharp's 2002 ZO6 (LS6 is that ok?) done at LG Motorsports put down 507 rwhp and 450+ rwtq . I think he would make more if he had the Meziere EWP and the ASP u/d Pully. Maybe 525 rwhp and 460 + rwtq. Go to www.lgmotorsports.com and look at the results section, you should see a Dyno sheet dated 6/21/06. I think that was a repost from a year ago.

CARTEK 4x 507.9RWHP daily driver and the cam is smaller than T-REX! My setup made 472 on a fresh rebuild pulling 1 in vaccuum because I had stock bellows, getting an updated tune soon and I should be over 490RWHP

That mostly depends on how high you rev it. To date I dont think an LS1 has died (stock or forged) due to having too much power. All have been fueling or oiling issues.

Then why have I always been warned about weak rod bolts and ~500RWHP is the limit.

The RPM kills the rod bolts more than anything else.

Im pretty sure they put updated rod bolts in the 01-01. If your reving past 7k then just spend $50 with arp and get the stronger ones.

Give me some time and I will see if I can get there

I still have a list of things to do and stuff I have done since my last dyno, 50 more hp is what I need to make up. This is also with a 230/232 cam ground on a 112+4. We will see, not saying I will hit it but its not out of the question. Here is a list of what I can/have done from the 450 in the sig....

Mill heads to 61cc
EWP
Cutout
New clutch assembly (heavy *** ls7/ls2 flywheel right now)
Ported FAST
make a ypipe worth a damn thats not crushed to half the size lol
and a few more ponys in the tune

Should (the key word) be pretty close. At least near 490 or so. If I swap the cam out for something to work better with the setup I think she could make at 500. Not too bad for a streetable setup that has off idle power and torque with a mild cam and a 205 head shifting by 6500

I thought the 01-02's had weaker ones.

I'm only spinning to 6800.

I sure hope anyone that spent the money for a 500hp car isn't running stock rod bolts.

I think that the 500rwhp cars are on friendly dynos.
