Default stock ls1 vs stall/full bolt on lt1

im wondering if i have a fighting chance against a lt1 with mystery mods. all I know is he has a stall and bolt ons. no power adders. with that info would you be willing to bet any cash on it?? I ran 13.7 w/ horrible 2500DA and bad tires.

also how much would my chances improve w/ my headers and full exhaust. i have them laying around but haven't had the chance to install or tune the car yet. so an answer for both outcomes would be very helpful. thanks.

raced a buddies vert at the track.. he had full bolt ons stall gears H/C/I..

i had a lid and loudmouth exhaust.. stock other than that, and full weight..

he got me by about 2 outta the hole.. by about half track i had made that up and my front bumper was at his rear, 3/4s down the track i was almost even and passing pretty good.. then his rear said boom, and i passed him..

shouldnt have to worry too much unless hes spraying...

I beat stock LS1 cars all of the time in my full boltons/non stalled A4 LT1 with 3.42 gears. You really don't have a chance with drivers/traction being equal.

With headers it will be a pretty good race I bet.

Also, what gears do you have and what gears does he have? That will make a big difference as well.

Stall/gear your car and you'll have no issues

I think you're in major trouble. Full bolt-ons and a stall in an auto LT1 should be good for bottom 13s / high 12s easy, assuming he can hook up.

That completely defies the point of street racing. Racing from highway rolls, pretty pointless.

That being said, depending on his gears, a stall will help out a LOT even from a freeway roll.

I doubt it, stalled vs non stalled on the highway makes a huge diff.

All around loss if the car is running right, decent driver, and good traction.

up top.. ls1.. man stall or no stall.. ls1 has a HUUUGE advantage up top.. if they go from 50 or so, they will at least do 110.. the faster the worse..

thats what im thinking. ill be toast from a dig but might have a chance from a higher roll because of the top end. once again though i dont know this guys mods so i don't think im going to risk it, even though i want to so bad. all he keeps asking what i have done and told him stock and he laughed. i asked him what he has done but he won't tell me besides a stall and obviously exhaust, since i can hear it. in a week ill have full exhaust and a tune so ill call him out then.

I understand LS1s do have the power up top, but LT1s aren't as weak as you think. I've owned 3 of them.. and they respond very well to mods as well.

Converter will help a lot on a highway roll.

Don't forget to get a tune after the headers and exhaust installed, you will need one to take advantage of adding them .

well if you decide to race from a dig, make the race as long as possible. LT1s especially stalled are going to tear you up around the 1/8th. go at least 1/4 mile if not a bit more on the street to better your chances.
