Default What should be the outcome of my LS1 Camaro vs cammed gt stang?????

So me and my buddy R currently N the army in El Paso, Tx. He talks so much **** on us as the GM family saying that he eats corvettes, camaro, ta's, GTO's and so on. Anyways he had the cams repalced with cc's stage 2's for his 01' gt stang along with these mods he also has the JDM CAI, power something upper intake plenum, something similar to the bullit intake, factory heads unported and polished,lt headers ORx-pipe,lm1 exhaust and engine tune with spec 2 clutch, and 3.73's in the rear. So I am looking to race his ***, as for me I have 98' camaro z28 6-speed with the k&n fipk, ported ls1 tb with the bumpstop mod, egr mod, tb bypass, that's it for the intake side. On the exhaust side I have lt's headers, ory, no cats, into the hooker aero chamber catback. I have factory gearing with the hurst short throw. We are both on street tires, but I'm conteplating on waitng for my MT's dr's from my other ss camaro back home to run that ***. I am kind of knew to the six speed but consider myself considerably decent at shifting. WHAT DO YA'LL THINK WILL BE THE OUTCOME??????

Its just a 2 valve 4.6, I wouldnt sweat it. Are yall running from stop or roll? If a stop, wait to get your drag radials on then. You would have the advantage then, since he would be on street tires.

01 Stang with stock heads, cams and supporting mods? That's what I believe your post said. That is a 280-290rwhp Stang. With 4.10 gears and good tires, it would run low, low 13's and trap about 106-108. Of course that is at sea level.

I wouldn't be horribly worried about an 01 GT with those mods.

I would think you'll pull him by 1-2 car lengths by the top of third. If he does give you a run for your money you can always top off your list of mods with an LS6 intake and dyno tune. If you haven't had a dyno tune you should get one, with your list of mods it'll really smooth out your performance as well as bump it up a few good notches...

I am in El Paso man...me and my boys would love to see this race. Shouldn't be too hard for you man. Seen it one to many times here with the Mustangs that call out the F-cars with similar mods and get torn up. Of course there are Cobra's and SC'd Stangs to worry about but for now...this 2Ver is not a problem if you don't miss 2-4 gear lol.
I have seen a Stang like this one you are talking about hit 14.1's here(4500-5200ft above), my buddies 02 WS6 with just a gear swap to 4.10's goes 13.1's, heck even me with a 00 Auto T/A has gone 13.78 here. Should be a good outcome for you.

I wouldn't go that far...the Mach's are pretty legit and of course the GT500's aren't exactly slow either.

Don't sweat it man but make sure you shift the hell out of your car to make it worse for your friend. Make him eat his words.

I have a buddy 00 SS 6spd beat a full bolt-on gt not sure what year but all my friend had was a cut-out, lid, chokemaster.. Both dig runs! My buddy was called out by the gt also.. Poor gt guy!!
