With todays economy I have seen ws6 fully optioned cars go for less that $10,000, but this shouldnt be a comparision since like u said cobras came out after f-bodys were gone and they were always more expensive MSRP. I think nowadays you could get a c5 z06 for cobra prices which IMO is a car that I would take any day. But for my budget and my taste a 2002 camaro was the perfect car for me, and yes they have alot of potential

I drove a yellow Cobra a few years ago, and I liked it. Compared to my LT1 it pulled hard(of course it did) but what I don't like about those cars is they are like supra's. Such nice cars but the price is ridiculous. They wanted 24k for a yellow 03 that had like 47k on the clock.

The block itself with forged rotating assembly and billet main caps has gone 1000rwhp. On stock bottom end I have seen them go 550rwhp for a while before they blew up, of course you are comparing a motor that wasnt build for boost to a boosted forged motor in a cobra. Although TERMIN8TR'S car lasted him 2 years with an ms3 and spray and he murdered alot of cobras

There are GT500's in the 10's with less than 2 grand in mods and Cobra's with similar mods (pulley, intake, exhaust, and tune) deep in the 11's....what was that about a fast budget car?

....congrats? Both the GT500 and Cobra are mid to lower 12's with a very competent driver weighing almost a thousand pounds more than a C5Z and also take much better to simple mods and will hold more power on the stock engine.

gt500 weighs a hefty sum more, and costs more..
the cobra would be a better match i believe.. even though it has IRS and the gt500 doesnt..
either one of the two can hit low 11s with minimal mods.. and can hit 10s with just a few more...
here is my rice/noob comment...... just slap F.I. on the vette and goodbye stangs..
JK!!!!!!!!! i do not think that way..

you are usually pretty good with these debates.. but you must admit, it is too close to call with the gt500, cobra, and c5z..
if i had to pick one, hands down c5z... least expensive (almost ties with cobra).. would dominate either in the twisties, and stock runs better times.. just as mod friendly as either IMO..
all 3 impressive cars...... not so much the gt500 IMO..

Its generally accepted from most engine builders that if your going for an extreme setup that the LS1 block offers more structural strength over the LS6 block, because of the bay windows on the ls6 block

All three cars are about on par as far as light bolt ons go but, you get more power per mod for the SVT cars than the C5Z06. The only problem, is with the added power it makes it even harder to launch.
Now with that said, I'd love to have any of the three

intake/radial otherwise bone stock c5Z's are sitting at a low to mid 11... id say thats pretty damn "mod friendly"..
