Default what will it take to beat this mustang?

I do realize this is an fbody forum, and i dont know how many members are familiar with 2v mustangs. I'd ask svtperformance the other forum im a member of but they will definatly be on the mustangs side, so ill ask yall first. I just want to know how my car will stack up to his, and what it will take to kick his ***.

So my buddy has a '00 GT 5speed. He's having alot of work done to it this week, followed up with a dyno tune. Heres his mods after he gets the car back:

C&L maf and coldair
bbk 65mm t.b.
frpp bullitt intake
patriot stage 2 heads
comp 278 cams
steeda underdrive pullies
o/r x-pipe
dynomax catback
4.10's, shifter
dyno tune- im guessing he'll make around 320rwhp
and pretty good driver

my car- '98 Transam A4
BONE STOCK, for right now

320 to the wheels isnt **** for the mods, I know. thats a 2v for ya. But a n/a mustang with that power usually feels alot stronger than you'd think. I know. i had a 290rwhp 95 cobra and for comparison sake, i tied 3 out of 3 races with my friends 98 SS a4 with kooks longtubes, catted y, slp lm1, whisper lid, and dyno tune, all from a dig.He put down 328rwhp....

so what do yall think? will i be anywhere near in stock trim? what should it take to blow his doors off

I am not much into bench racing. But, the mustang is going to stomp your *** for sure.

Get a stall and a 100 Shot.

With a stock shortblock he'll only make 3-315rwhp most likely but should be enough to put a hurting on you.

Maybe Jay will be in a good mood. And maybe you wont get a ban. OP, read the stickys. Not trying to be a dick, seriously. Read the very first one. No bench racing in this forum. There is a bench racing section over in the lounge to ask these kinds of questions.

All that work and only 320 to to the wheels? Man that is not good!

Tell him to sell it and get an LS1! '01 and '02's make that (or more) stock!

And if he is having all that work done, he can probably afford to upgrade, so tell him to go to the next level and get a C5 Z06 or a Terminator.

Then pulley the Terminator and add bolt-ons or supercharge the Z06 and add exhaust.

Done.

All that work to get beat by a stock LS1 Vette 6-speed, let alone an LS2 or an LS3...tell him he's wasting his time...

So everyone should mod the same car? That would be pretty boring.

lol ive had a few mustangs man. i cant say enough about how reliable , good looking and awesome they sound. But when it comes to power and winning races, my 99 Z that i just sold would delivery more *** kickings than any of my mustangs could dream of

Get some long tubes, an intake, and a tune. that should be enough to handle him from a stop, from a roll he might pull on you being he has the gearing advantage on you are on a stock stall converter.

what gears are you 3.23 or 2.73?

With any sort of traction he's gonna have a solid mid 12s car. So I'd recommend you getting a stall and some LTs first.
