Default mustang vs 94 5.3 camaro

well i have a kid that goes to my school who drives his dads mustang alot he's a decent guy not a complete douchebag like some kids but i asked him what was done to it and then said when i get my camaro together we'd have to race and im wondering if i'd be able to beat him without nitrous (plan on having a 150-200 shot just in case)

mustang has these mods
cobra 10.5inch wide wheels
aluminum driveshaft
aluminum fly wheel
tremec tko 5-speed
pro 5.0 short throw shifter
sub frame connecters
373 gears
255lph electric fuel pump
adjustable fuel regulator
underdrive pulleys
cold air intake
pro m series m.a.f
75mm race throttle body
ported and polished plenum
oversized injectors
aluminum 3" core radiator
msd ignition
stage 1 aluminum heads
bbk h pipe no cats

my camaro will have

5.3
milled heads for 10:1
218/224 .550/.550 114lsa cam
tsp pushrods
yellow springs
arp rod bolts
P&P truck TB
LS1 intake
pacesetter LT's
UD pulley
built TH350 with shift kit and 3500stall
posi and 3.73 gears
255lph fuel pump

will i need a progressive 150-200 shot?

hmmm...he's got some nice mods, but also some that I just dont' get..

On street tires, he's probably running roughly mid 13s pending his driving, etc. possibly low 13s if he can launch well at a decent track. Also it depends on the tune. I assume they were smart enough to get a custom dyno tune. If not or he's an 'eh driver. I'd look for 13.5-6 type of a time.

That' what I thought. I second guessed myself and wanted to make sure.

What size tire you going with? Are you sure a 3 speed with 3.73s is a good idea? My brother has that in his 72 in his 383 and he wines out the traps pretty high in the rpms..I can't recall exactly where.

i put it all in on dragsim with a rev limiter of 6800 i was going trough the traps at around 6k maybe a little higher

i might have to go to 3.42's but we'll see

mine will be dyno tuned on 275/40R17 ET street radials

Sounds good man.

I'd say you'll have a close race on your hands, but that depends on what kind of power you're making. The ETs are what's really gonna help and him being a 5spd leaves higher chance for error on his part.

I'd say with that much power NA, plus the fact that its going in a originally V6 car that it will weight slightly less than a originally equipted V8 f-body, that you should be able to take the stang. especially if you go from a dig with that stall and tire combo.

My question for the mustang....why all the fuel mods? Its just bolt ons with heads...stock cams and no power adder? Is all that fuel really necessary?

10's? ahhh i'd say probably more like 11's, but then again im no expert, but i'd think even really at best it'd be a low low low 11 unless you do some dieting on the car. do you know how much lighter the V6 bodies are compared to the v8's? and then how much weight difference the engines are and tranny's, cause arent those TH350's kinda heavy?

Spray 200 out of the hole, rip a nasty 1.5 or better 60', and you could go 10s.

i'm not sure spraying that much outa the hole would help, maybe go progressive and hit it wiht a 100 out of the hole and then another 100 after first gear. but kyle is right, its all gunna come down to how good of a 60' you can pull.

damn, well then in that case, the car should be a good little bit lighter, but i still think you might need some more weight reduction to pull of a 10.

its not just that, its that you are gunna need to be spray out of the hole and thats gunna take a sticky *** wide tire to hook juicin it from the get go.

so if i 2 staged a 100 and a 100 just spraying the first stage out of the hole while activating the second stage on a progressive controller for another 100-125

both on a plate (nitro daves dual stage plate) or should i do one plate system and one wet nozzle in the intake?
