slight setback...I won't be ready this weekend...

I've decided to change my front shocks from the old style afcos to the new style afcos which have a more aggressive valving option. Controlling the front end on this thing is critical and I was concerned that the old 1870 AFCOs wouldn't be ideal

all the talk about the car getting unsettled makes me think of the few vids that popped up of LMR's black firehawk doing t&t. that thing got all kinds of wild more than a few times, I think theres a vid of Rob Valden jumping a mustang clear off the track after pedaling it too. turbo came online and the car wheelied so hard it used the wheelie bars to launch itself a good 10 inches off the track

You probably can sell the fronts for 75% of what new ones will cost ya. I think the ones that I have here are the 1890 part #... is that the updated one? I'll have to look into it..

nah...they were a bit cosmetically challenged. I sold the pair for the cost of one new shock, which was actually a really good deal for the buyer since they were freshly rebuilt by AFCO. I threw in my old 325lb springs since they aren't doing me any good

the updated one has the clicking adjusters. the old style had the hex nut in the shaft that you had to drill the top of your shock tower to adjust the extension.

I've got some very talented people helping on my program so it shouldn't be too far off on initial settings

I have the new ones then... I have a **** at the top and bottom of the shock to adjust with. Funny thing was I got one with a black shock shaft, other has a silver shaft.. I talked to Eric Staffel about it, it was a cosmetic change that they made with them... when I gave him the serial # he was able to look it up, and that's what it was...

Good to know they're the newer ones anyway. Even though I bought them a while ago now.... at least they're not already outdated

Brian is on the way to the track, I'll post any results I hear. Plan is to make a couple shakedown passes to make sure the car goes straight and all the systems work correctly without any leaks.
