xray still probably won't pick up microcracking. normally you'd magnaflux for that, but the coating is the issue.

If the piston isn't hot I don't think the xray would show the cracks.. coating or not. You'd have to expand them to see it most likly....

Brian just take your time with the rebuild.. you'll get it done and it will be a solid, badass piece when it's back together for sure.

Is throwing a smaller turbo and motor in, out of question. You could go beat up smaller classes? While the new bullet gets fixed or replaced??

I know this is bad to say, because I know some **** can happen, but so long as I bring the car down safely and don't damage anything, I have a lot of fun when she does a nasty wheelstand! And the look on everyone's face when you come back and just had the car almost on the bumper and brought it down smooth and still ran out a good pass and smoked the guy next to you is priceless!!! Now don't get me wrong, I don't try to do it, it just happens sometimes and luckily enough I have enough seat time that i've learned how to control them and bring her down pretty smooth.

Yeah, didn't think about that, that could be recipe for disaster.

Ouch, sorry to hear that man, good luck getting it back together. Had been following your build for a while and just getting a chance to catch up on reading updates as I have been off the forum for quite some time due to work.

I don't think buying another engine is gonna solve the problem. Money spent on another engine would be wasting what could be spent on the original one.

you guys would be surprised at some of the things a good Xray can find, they can even detect the carbon build up along the bonding lines between the passes.

With 14.5 to 1 compression, it's not going to do him any good. Believe me if it was something that Brian could have put to use I'd have already made the offer.

I do, have a buyer that is supposedly going to come take a look at it though
