IMO,i really don't think there is going to be any head gasket issues at 1200rwhp with this combo. With the big engine the cylinder pressure are ALOT lower at that hp level compared to like a 370.Cylinder pressure and detonation is what kills head gaskets-not horsepower.Too many people get the whole hp vs. boost vs. cylinder pressure thing confused.

Good job on building a large engine-the large engine will make better tq and be alot more reliable in the long run because you don't need to push it nearly as hard to make you goals.

I don't think they offered it. Not sure. My n/a motor was a 6.0 iron block anyways.

huh? we didn't lose the headgasket...it just seeped a little on the thrust side...off the shelf ARP studs FTL

I think the ignition was a nonissue for that...I still think it was a misfire that later ignited in the pipes

I'd be curious what heads he was using. I've not had any issues with my current combination but from seeing everyone else push water at around 25PSI or higher I'm reluctant to keep cranking it up. I'll be running all this season at a max of 23PSI. It'll get me close to the 8.50's I've been looking for as a max for my chassis and safety equipment. So I'm pretty much done cranking up the wick. But I'll definitely keep an eye on the folks pushing the limits to see what combination works well for them.

^ They were an ET 225 casting with some extra port work done to them. He was selling them a while ago. If you search under his name you should find them.

There is a difference between a 14 sec car (in your sig) and an 8 sec car. To me, fun = winning races.

I wish you texted or called me. I didn't see this question. Call the local dealers and look for a MAP sensor for a 1989 3.8 Turbo trans am. Your best chance of finding one is either Young Chev in Dallas or Scoggin Dickey in Lubbock. Ask them to look up the harness for it. If they don't have it, look up efi connection or Caspers electronics.

Got the intercooler on and all the pipes to.Will have pics up soon. My LS2 valley cover hits the intake but it does fit without the gasket. Can I use the valley cover without the gasket and silicone it? The exhaust is done to. Looks pimp!!!

Jeremy, the guys up there know what they are doing so no need to ask such a silly question like that especially when you're not working on it. Don't turn into a Mikey asking all kinds of questions when you don't need to. They will get it all taken care of.

Just be patient and it will come together.

BTW...this post was from Jonathan.
