Something is wrong on that injector duty cycle math. My buddy Joe is only at like 85% IDC on his 120's running about the same 6.0 in the 1/8th. Steve went 7's on the 160's with race gas and I went 8.9 (5.87 IIRC in the 1/8th) on the 160's with E85 at under 90%.

Damn how big of a burnout are you doing?

You just need to do a long enough burnout to get a little smoke going in high gear and as long as you let off and you hear a chirp you know you have enough heat in them.

Doing those long, pretty cool looking burnouts just wastes rubber and does nothing for added traction it can actually hurt traction putting too much heat in the tires.

Why are you done with DRs? It just needs more tuning that is all. Is your track **** or something? There are guys going ay faster on DRs.

the thing about drag radials. yes people have be 7.30s at 200 mph but this is on a professional raced preped top notch track (MIR for example) but if your going to a track with little to no prep. you will not hook ever if you making any big power(600hp+) a radial needs a well prepped surface because it has less contact patch and is a stiffer tire. so if your running at a unprepped track it is better prolly in your case to just run something like a et street bias ply or full slick. just my thoughts cause my friend has been to are local track on 275 60 mt et street radials and pulled 1.3x 60s but we went to a never prepped track and the car couldnt pull 1.80s and had trouble going 10s

and fbodyjunkie is 100% correct in a radial burnout all you need is a second or two of smoke and they are good anymore and its waisting the tire

Skull pretty much sums up why i said to hell with drag radials. My track is never the best, even if it were prepped it would only be 60ft out. I always here that people have gone yada yada yada on a 275/60, well thats great but i bet it was at a full on prepped out the *** track on a perfect day. I have a bolt in 6 point, and am trying to go 8s. Thats not a option for me!!!!! Plus i want my car to run good on any track in any weather.

Thanks guys! I to say the least didnt have the best night at the track. Car seemed to be hot all night, and it seemed no matter what i did i couldnt get the car to 60 ft better than 1.50. I did everything from launch off the brake at 3800 at 5 psi, all the way to 4800 rpm and 7 psi, also foot braked it to 3500 rpm at 6 psi, and all of them were low 1.5s. I dunno what the hell was going on. Also felt like the car gradually was slipping through out the night. I only trapped 3 mph faster going from 21 psi to 24 psi. So i think im ether blowing threw the converter of the trany is slipping. Only good thing of the night was i trapped 123 in the 1/8th and 157 in the quarter. Other then that it was frustrating. Heres a vid of the last pass. which was as follows:

Build boost to 3 psi on the footbrake on the first bulb, then hit the second bulb jumped on the brake until i seen 7 psi. Run was 23.8 psi.

60ft 1.49

1/8 5.95 @ 121

1/4 9.14 @ 155

What rpm did you cross the 1/4 at. You need to calculate out your converter slip.

While they do need a decently prepped track with the shock's he and I have we have so much room to tune the extension with(44 click settings on each shock just on extension where as most shocks have 10 or 12) you can make it work. Just might not be able to get after it as hot at first, but with a slick he would be a little faster in the front half where the radial would probably make that up in rolling resistance and mph on the top half. Kinda of give and take.

Now if he could really get the wheel speed up on the slick and not dead hook them like most people do he could possibly go faster on the slick.

Smoky burnouts are cool to look at, but all you need is that chirp and your good

Also if it's really hot outside and your car is OLSD then the tune is likely pretty rich from when you had it tuned. It really sounded like it was getting its dick knocked in the dirt.

You can try putting some more timing in it off the line as you need wheel speed with a slick so you can zing it off the line and not dead hook it. A slick needs to be turned over 2-3 times before the car moves, painting a white swatch on the tires helps in seeing this.

You'll get it figured out.
