Very impressive, but i'm going to add something here that i'm surprised nobody has mentioned yet, please change the converter in that car!!!! If you're only gaining 26 mph out the back door on a turbo car at that that level I can't even imagine how horribly inefficient that converter must be and you're leaving quite a bit on the table!

The difference in MPH is the differences in the weight.
2600 @ 154 = 800 hp
3400 @ 147 = 900 hp
For comparison, the rx7 would have to have gone 161 in the quarter at his weight to be at the same power as the Mustang.
The convertor might be a little loose but, after switching back to Hygard, the car is only about 6400 - 6500 thru the traps at 147.
The next project will be a third gen camaro, that has scaled at 2400 with a bigblock and nitrous, and is cert to 7.50.
Hitting it hard after we get back from Dragweek. We will be trying to get a hit on the Camaro this season.

You should be gaining much more than 26 mph on the backhalf at the level you are at and being a turbo car no less. I went 5.84 @ 119 1/8th and 9.09 @ 149 out the back door on my nitrous car, 3450 raceweight. I can almost guarantee your converter is horribly inefficient on the big end unless you have some other kind of issue with losing power or something. I would highly recommend trying another converter and I bet you will gain both et and mph! Also, the weight would make it to where you would have to have more power to run the same kind of mph as a lighter vehicle, but it wouldn't kill your 1/8th to 1/4 mph spread.
There is still more in it, if we get around to working on some of "weak links" that are in the car.

haha dont laugh but its actually going into a 1980 vw rabbit, the car is stripped right now and finishing up the cage and with the cage we estimate it to weigh about 800#, the car is a long way away as i just started working on it and i also have two other ls swap projects that need to be finished first
plans for the car is a 4.8 with twin 70mm and maybe 100-200 n20 /powerglide/built and narrowed 8.8/4 link rear suspension and a very large tire
i am aiming for 8.50s and know the car will be a hand full lol and it will mostly be a 1/4 mile street car

Mine is a 67' Camaro tube chassis street car, 4-link, 32x14.5 sticky mickeys, 3045 lbs (with 8-71 BBC) much lighter with the 5.3., heck the blower itself weighed 75 lbs.
I have a 5.3 with light head work, a cam that's too big, twin GT35 Ebay turbos, Th400, 4200 stall converter, 3.70 gear.
I'm gonna try 18 psi with methanol injection and race fuel. I would go E85 but
already set up for gas at the moment.
I have a goal be in the 8 sec club with some of you guys. I know my car is proven and should easily handle the power,( 8.27 @ 170 with the BBC). I have put a lot of street miles on this combination at 10 to 15 psi. No track times yet. Runs strong, but not quite there . I will keep you guys posted.
