Default Rods for 1k+ RWHP

What rods is everyone using in there 1k+ rwhp builds? Someone recommended to me Callies Compstar HD I-Beam rods but now I am hearing that they are not good at that level.

I was recommended those rods for up to 1500hp from a well respected LSX builder. Exactly what I'm gonna run when I put my turbo motor together. Searching for enough power to put me deep in the 8's.

I was planning the same thing as I was also recommended them to up to 1500hp but when I called Callies and asked about them they said that they relay only recommend them up to 800rwhp or so....

Ya I asked a few times because I thought the same thing. They said only their Callies Ultra rods would support 1k+ hp

callies told me the h beam compstars were good for 750 and the I beams were good for a lot more. I have the I beam compstars in my AES 385 and there were in my 347 that was making around 900 crank

I would agree but if a manufacture is covering there *** at 800hp and you are trying to to 1200hp+ that is a pretty good gap.

IIRC, camaroandreas made 1360 on callies compstar rods (engine dyno), and in a differnet motor didn't bend them till 1900ish flywheel hp.

any forged rod that is a good name brand will do as long as the tune is spot on. you have a v8 so your only producing a little over 100 hp per cylinder.

I have callies H beams in my 370 and its made 830rwhp so far so its somewhere into the 900's at the crank. I plan on going with a I-Beam rod as well for my new motor....I think they severely underrate them.
