Size comparison: TC76 vs. PTE 7675
Hey,
I currently have a TC76 in my car but I just don't think I will end up being happy with the small turbine. My car is nothing special, just a normal junkyard build. Stock bottom end 5.3 L33, LS6 cam, LS6 intake, LS9 gaskets, ARP head bolts, a good fuel system, 1.80 PowerGlide, 8.8" spooled solid axle.
This is just a street car (only has a 4 point roll bar) but I don't want to leave a bunch of power on the table with high back pressure... I would like to run 15 psi or so (probably less if the 7675 fits lol)
I'm wondering if someone has a direct size comparison between the two turbos, specifically on the turbine housing side. As it is, I have very little clearance and am way too far into my build to redo the hotside:
As you can see, the turbine housing sits very close to the water pump inlet. An option would be to get a smaller electric water pump, but I might as well just redo the hotside at that point. From what LS1NOVA has given me as far as dimensions it will be close... but I'm just wondering if anyone has actually had both side by side. I don't want to spend the money on the turbo if I'm going to take a loss on it.
I know I might have to redo the DP or IC piping, but that's all pretty easy.

David, I have one you can try (not the one on my car) Just drive here from Duluth, mock it up, and bring it back. Lol. Im building a kit with it so I could only have it gone one day.

i was under the impression from DR turbo it would be a drop in replacement for the tc76/78 stuff and use the same small compressor housing
specs would be nearly identical to a pte7675
i would contact forced inductions and see what the real deal is

I called up Forced Inductions this morning and here's what they had to say.
Within 2 or 3 weeks they will be releasing a turbo based off of either the T series or the TC series compressor wheels with a 75mm turbine wheel with a housing that will retain the same dimensions as the TC76. The person I spoke to wasn't 100% sure if they were using the compact compressor wheel of the TC or the bigger one of the T series, however, the difference in size between the two is only .25-.5" total, so it's minimal. It be smaller than the PTE housing at the very least. It will be called either a TC7675 or a T7675.
He didn't have an exact price but guessed it would be in the $1,200-$1,300 range with an initial group buy at less than that.
This should be a killer little turbo. A sleeper, for sure. Maybe not a PTE7675 killer but it's a good solution for a lot of us.
Skinnies, I am not opposed to turning up the wick but I'd like to leave a little headroom for the future, too. I want the best turbo that will make the most power given my space constraints. This is in an RX-7 afterall I have Evos to disappoint.
