Default Version 2.0 / Z28 / Procharged / 383ci / Build /Dyno Results

So this winter I decided to pull the engine to freshen some things up, more De-cluttering under the hood, and add some go to all the new show. The new plan is the same D1 procharger on a new 383ci ls1, ditching the twin intercoolers and plenum sick of all the pipes everywhere, going frount mount. Adding my snow meth kit thats been sitting around for 2 years. Deleting the rest of the HVAC and adding a UMI block off plate. Re-doing the PCV system/catch can, and adding a vacuum manifold block to all the FI vacuum operated items.

So here is what I have ordered / done to the car as of now. I'll update the thread as I keep moving forward.

Bottom end:
Ls1 block
4'' Stroke Lunati voodoo crank
Reusing my crower 6.125" rods
Mahle pistons 3.905 bore / -6cc dish
10:1 compression
Clevite H rod/main bearings
Arp main studs
383 ci

Top end:
New ls9 head gaskets
Reusing:
Mti p/p 317 heads
Mti cam 228/232 - 584/588 115lsa
Comp lifters
Arp head studs
Rollmaster double
Ported ls6 oil pump

So today I just ordered:
Cx racing 31"x12"x4" intercooler
3" universal pipe kit W/ clamps and 4ply silicone
Umi- HVAC block off plate
Baffeled vented catch can

Here's a link to all the progress pic's of "version 2.0" Camaro... For everyone who likes shiny parts... Enjoy

I'd be worried about the 4" stroke in the LS1, plus the added blower stress. Should be fine though.

nice set up! i've been kicking the idea of doing a 383 LS1 as well. People are too scared to experiment and never venture for themselves. keep up with updates

Nice build! You really should upgrade to an F-1A. At 7000 ft you're going to be spinning that D-1SC for all it's worth to boost a 383. Bob

It's on the list for sure, I'm saving up for a new rear end and the TQ arm will come with it. I swear this project will never be over.

Very nice looking build only two things i wld look at changing ....1 the j bracket most ppl complain of belt slippage........2 that plastic intake elbow never had it myself but have heard lots of other complain that elbow being a choke point. Just food for thought not high dollar items alot easier to change now then down the road , other than that very nice build sir looking good.

Thanks for the complements.
Your right on both accounts but...

The J bracket has the SDCE spring tensioner on it, I bought my kit from them so I have never had to fight belt slip I also have a bar from the J bracket to the oil pan to help bracket flex.

Stock Procharger tensioner

SDCE spring

Both together

Here is what I've done with the blower hat.

Thanks again man, I hear ya on the wife and kids... When I first started moding this car (10 years ago) I didn't have either. I could blow an entire pay check on the car, eat ramen noodles and drink cheap beer for the next 2 weeks and not think twice about it, boy how times have changed
