Lol Centimeter

Get out and drive it already. Glad you got it working right, I have the 1.125 master hoping to not have any issues but that’s quite a ways out yet.

Well if the plunger is not pushed when I'm off the brakes the light stays on. I'm a little worried about that because I live in a dense area and a buddy who just finished his car got rearended by someone not paying attention.

Check this out, his first full test drive:

Wow that definitely sucks after all the hard work. Going back to the beginning I see it was manual brakes when you got it. Did it come factory or was it changed out from power at some time ? Check out this thread

I'll check out the thread. It was manual drum brakes when I got it, I assume that was the stock setup.

I did manual drag brakes cuz race car.

Interesting link. I'll investigate tomorrow. I see some info out there about a pedal return spring too, don't think mine has one but maybe it did originally. But I know if I by-hand pull the brake up the plunger is barely engaged, so maybe it's a just a simple adjustment but I'll ask around the 1st gen groups if there should be a return spring.

Back on the ground, fixed my rear brake light issue (lube the assembly which made a big difference, spaced out the plunger and also the brake push rod). Put dash back in.

Next stop, I'll drive it some, but after that I have to redo a section of fuel line for my big pump, one section has substantial kink I never noticed. After that I'll beat on it.

So:

-drive
-fix fuel line
-swap ladder bars?
-alignment
-drive harder

Well for track times I have to redo small section of feed line to the big pump (Weldon), and swap the ladder bars.

  • Bled brakes about 25 times, wheels off
  • Fixed rear brake light issues, were staying on
  • Did some wiring clean up

Plan to do some weekend driving if I can get a buddy to hang out and help keep an eye on things....

Planning to drive this weekend.

While I did drive the car a few times last fall, a lot of the systems were not complete, no lights lol, crap brakes, car ran a bit hot.

Since then have redone part of the cooling system, swapped brake m/c - bled brakes extensively, finished some wiring stuff. Also had Andrew B start tuning the car, and the car runs much better.

Drove it half hour today, kept it very local (a big lot by my house).

No leaks, didn't lose any belts, coolant temps were okay.

Brakes were still soft so I'm going to take the car to a buddy's shop (need to call around to 2-3 I know) and pick one of them. If I pumped the brakes some they worked better, so maybe just still a bunch of air in them. I did my best on them, time for me to let someone else dial them in.

Been waiting to hear about the brakes , hope they can get them properly bled for you and the smaller bore master gives you an acceptable pedal effort

Yeah a buddy of mine who I talk to a few times a week, former dealer tech, he thinks it might be a bad flare fitting or something, but I'm read to let a shop figure it out.

Car ran so solid I I just want to finish the street tuning with Andrew aka GottaGTO and make some real boost hits in this thing.
