I have some vids somewhere of a turbo'd LS1 on this board.

Just look around, most people have videos in their sig if their stuff is halfway decent.

It seriously sounds like what you want is a turbo.

S/c would be if you just wanted to go fast and have it felt pretty cool

Turbo if you wanted your *** in the backseat while shitting yourself.

I have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS also, and though its nothing like my Z28, I supercharged the Monte, it has a v6 and after the supercharger with 11psi with supporting mods, it feels like I dropped in a LS1, and nothing sounds better than the constant whine. I raced the new GTO in it and he couldnt pull away id inch away during the whole race. Just to think what a supercharger would do to the LS1 is unbelievable!

Yeah, but if you were to put a turbo on your engine instead of that S/C, I think you'd be saying a different tune.

Hi guys, I am new to the LS1 scene but I have been around the car scene for awhile (own a 72 GTO). I am considering buying a local 01 T/A which is black with a 6 speed. I want to put a supercharger or turbocharger on it if I were to buy the car, but is it possible to retain the air conditioning?

If not then I will stroke the block and add new heads and cam.

if you have a SDCE kit the belt gets rapped around the blower pulley more so it does not have to be so tight and takes all the stress of the crank right ???? so theres no belt slippage or stress on the crank and the belt last longer as well ????? I read a few post back about stress on the crank

What turbo kit did you have on? Front or rear mounted?

Hmmmm im still debating. I am waiting for Hi-Flow to get some numbers and feedback out, but right now its between the STS and D1SC unit. I am liking the D1SC a little more.

If it's between STS and a D-1, the choice would be easy for me...

D-1.

ATI blower kits are great for what they are.
