Default FI help

Whats up everyone.

Well i am thinking about Force Induction in my T/A. there is only one problem i dont know which way to go. I know that turbos produce more power but everyone says that they are a pain in the butt to install and tune. I know that there are a few companies out there that make prefabed turbo systems, STS, Pro Turbo, GMR Speed, Hi Flo are just a few of the ones that i have been looking at. Pretty impressed with the numbers that they put down about i know that here will be alot more expenses with turbo systems.

My other option is supercharging it. I was thinking about vortech but then when i started to read some of the threads on the site alot of people have procharger. I was hopeing that some one could tell me which one is better than the other and why. To me both systems look solid but then again im new to the FI game. I know this is going to start some stuff. but now im not sure which system to go with. I know that here will be some other things that i will need for a supercharger setup. I have already picked out the headers and exhaust that im going to go with Jet hot headers and my loud mouth exhaust. My trans will get rebuilt as well and a 3400 stall put in. i already have my ls6 intake just waiting to put it one after i figure out which system im going to to with.

Im new to the force induction thing so i just need some inputs from some experinced people. My goal to the get between 450-500 rwhp with the stock block, heads, and cam. any help anyone can give is appreciated.
thanks
Tony

Yea, i have been in the same boat as you for a while also. I think it really boils down to preference. Each types of systems has there ups and down. Ive made a few huge threads helping me to decide that you could probably dig up. If you decide to supercharge, the Procharge D1SC unit is probably the best way to go on our motors. Least problems, best design, etc. For turbo its basically up if you want the rear mount or front. If you are lowered then you do not want the STS kit. Also if you are a little paranoid, you may not want your turbo exposed out in the open and under your car. The STS kits are proven however and make great power. For the front mount, if money isnt an issue, check out the TTi street kit. Turbo technologies Inc. If your more based on a budget, as you stated, the GMR, Hi-Flo are good options. I myself if i plan to go FI, i iwll be going with the GMR kit. Your goals are very realistic and very obtainable safely with any system. Its all in the tune as you will hear most people say. Id guess that if you ran a safe 8 psi on a D1SC you hit yuor 450 mark and with a good professional dyno tune, youd be golden all day. You can probably reach that goal with about 6-7 psi on a turbo, 8 psi o nthe turbo and you will be closer to 500. Its basically all up to you. Hope this helps. If you did not already know, you will need a fuel setup (Pump/injectors), some gauges, the install, and a tune. Have fun, hope this helps. Check out some of the threads i made, they are very informative and helped me out greatly. Now i jsut have to get the money so i can afford a kit!
