I am in the process of converting my track car to E85. I hope to have it done by fall.
If there were more pumps around I would love to run it in my truck all the time.

new stock tank, 2 walbro 255's, 1/2" aluminum feed with -8 braided hose on each end. 3/8" alum return with -6 braided hose.
BTW, i am running that high of a base pressure now because i was hitting 85+% DC with my 65# injectors at 58psi base.

I'm looking to go E-85 too, I think a lot more of us should switch. I think the biggest change is fuel lines and maybe the pump I read, I think in GM hightech that all they did was to change the lines because the fuel would eat through regular rubber lines.

From my research, E-85 isn't corrosive to fuel lines in modern vehicles.

I am changing to a fuel cell and redoing the fuel lines.
What material would be best for the two?
plastic or metal tank. any part number or pics of e85 safe tanks?
rubber or metal lines? any part numbers or pics?
if metal what kind of metal?

I am questioning the same thing right now. I am thinking about changing over the SC to use E-85 only. I am not sure how many pumps I am going to have to use, but I would rather switch over to one big one than use two of the smaller ones. I already have the cell mount built, but I have not got the blower back yet so I am still wondering what to do for lines and rails. I THINK I will be safe with #60s but that was with "other" pump gasoline.

I looked into an E85 conversion for my WS6. With the expected mileage decrease of 1-3 mpg and the over all cost (200 to reprogram, fuel only being 20-60 cents cheaper) it just did not seem right. If the price of E85 in my area dropped to under 2.50 I would think about doing the switch again. If you look around you'll find a few threads about this. I was also told by someone on here that does E85 conversions that all you need is a reprogram of the computer.

Default my findings so far.

if your fuel sys can handle the x-tra flow can just reprogram pcmsforless.com will supply this. if you have tunercat just report the injector a size or 2 lower depending on power or economy and advance the timing as per cr 3-12 degrees.
the power comes from the cooling affect of alc, the abillity to run way ritcher without fouling out and more advance. it also does not have the harsh detonation curve that gas has if you go a lil over on timing you just loose power less cance of a blown motor. pesky rubber must go for a full on conversion usually about $500. e85 fuel pumps are hard to find so I add a few quarts of diesel for pump lube.

or you can just add 4 gall of e85 105 oct to 10 gal of 87 reg to get 92 octane. and not worry abot a program or pump lube. dont forget to pickle your car before storage witch means just use prem unl alc dosent sit well pics up water.

converted the SS this week. bought a different pcm and did the conversion with just a tune. have had no issues with it. the car has a walbro 255 pump and stock lines the rails are performance products stuff and I have dart heads on the car with an mti c1 cam. its got great power with this combo and it didnt totally kill my milage. its hurt it yes but at a dollar a gallon cheaper then premium its worth it.

Thumbs up

are you using lube for the pump and did you remove the rubber lines in the sending unit? I use the same pump and it will handle the flow but should have lubricant. rubber lines will only last 6 to 18 mo how is the power vs gasolene?
