Default How long will you wait and what mods will you make on your new 09 Camaro

I believe most people that subscribe to this board will start modifying their cars right away. Be realistic and not just a dream list. What mods will you make and how long will you wait? Assume the aftermarket will have the parts within a realistic time.

Choose from several of the choices if just one doesn't fit yours plans. Respond with your own if any were left off.

I'm sure there will be a lot a shops and serious owners that will be shooting to have the fastest 09 Camaro out there.
Personally, I would love to have a built LS7 waiting to be put in a new 09 that I could enjoy on the street. In reality, my street car would get headers, exhaust, tuning, CAI and maybe some wheels and tires. My drag car is another story.

I'd have to say full exhaust, cam, n2o, tune and a drag radial.

Assuming it comes with the LS3. The L92 heads flow like the AFR 225 heads, and the matching intake flows pretty damned good too. Better than the Fast 78mm. So no need for heads/intake mods right away.

They have put down about 470-480 with full exhaust and tune. This engine LOVES mods.

I do plan on having a 12 bolt waiting for the car though. I'll have to have to custom fabricate stiff but it would be worth it, just to say i did it.

This one is a tough one for the high HP drag racers. If you want to run in a "stock suspension class", 8's or even low 9's with the IRS is probably not practical. Putting a torque arm rear end in a non-torque arm car doesn't seem worth it either.

That sucks ***. I guess whe'll see what happens. Lowest times i plan on running are mid-low tens.

Ive seen GTO's run well into the 10s at weight. If the rear end and suspension are similar, theres a good chance the 09 Camaro can be as fast without rear end mods .

Cat back, CAI, window tint, stereo (assuming the stock one is going to suck) wheels and tires. Then after the warranty runs out the fun will begin.

also assuming it will have the ls3 i will do cam, bolt ons, and some type of nitrous system. And with the way the l92's flow plus the extra cubes of the ls3 im thinking somewhere in the 250-260 dur. range

CAI, new exhaust, octane tune, maybe a nitrous system. Nothing too fancy, at least compared to some of you guys

I would say if I get one I'll probably supercharge it, but I wont buy an 09. I'll most likely wait a year or two.
