Finally it's driven! C&D V-6 Camaro First Drive Review
Would I take a V-6 version over a Challenger? Definitely. A Mustang-I don't know... you could probably a get a GT for the price of a V-6 Camaro.
Attention, IROC-Z enthusiasts: the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro will not be available with your beloved T-top. If this is hugely disappointing, well, it may finally be time to put on a shirt with a collar, sell your Skynyrd CDs, and scissor the mullet.
In reviving the Camaro, Chevy is doing all it can to make the born-again car remind everyone of the sharp, cleanly styled 1967 original, rather than the more awkward later versions that seemed like accessories to tank-top wear and excesses in facial hair. This writer, the semi-proud owner of a 1995 Z28, knows intimately all the social assumptions that go with late-model Camaro ownership. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/...review?cid=273

What is funny is how well the DI V6 is responding to basic mods. The Cadillac forums posted a gain of ~30hp and ~20 ft/lbs of torque from just an aftermarket intake and exhaust. Of course, the caddy is probably toned down a bit since it is GM's "Luxury" brand.

There's no difference in the V6 between Cadillac and Chevrolet aside from the packaging for the different engine bays.

Wasn't really talking about a de-tuned motor. I was merely speaking about it probably having a more tame exhaust from the factory. The CTS-V is something entirely different as far as the demographic that car is intended for.

The Cobalt SS is 300lbs heavier than an RSX, isnt it? And the CTS-V is almost 4000lbs... Its funny what a little technology and some track-time will do. Those cars are FAST and hang with the big dogs. I expect the same from the Camaro, although it might be more prevelant on the V8 Models.
What about Ford and Dodge? What are their lap times? Oh my, I dont think that they take their cars to the 'Ring.

All this V6 talk is making me feel kinda ricey. I dont care if they come out with a V6 Vette, im not buying a V6 anything. My only concern is the SS & how much they will cost. A 13.3 isnt too bad & it will beat my WS6.
