Default German Castrol Question

I thought German Castrol was green? I was just curious when I went to Napa today and looked to see if they have it. They have a European 0w30 Made in Germany but its the regular amber/yellow/ color of oil. Is that the same stuff?

I was just wondering for peace of mind.

it used to be green, but they switched color...results show it to be no better no worse than the old green stuff

I got tired of trying to find it and just got Penzoil Platinum instead...the engine no longer sounds like a diesel like it did with the Mobil Clean 5000 stuff I put in for breaking in the cam/lifters/springs/ect

I used it for about 3 oil changes, I didn't notice any difference at all compared to using Pennz. Platinum synth. Still sounds like a diesel no matter what I use.

True. They switched colors about a year and a half/two years ago. It's in mine right now. My car loves it

mine doesn't sound like a diesel now that I got that mobile dino juice out of there...good news is that it was still really really clean for oil with 2000 miles on it

Both the Penzoil Platinum and the German Castrol are both very good synthetic oils according to our oil gurus. If I ever run out of GC (no time soon with my stockpile) and can't find it in the store I'll probably run PP.
