!!! LS1 C5 Vette vs. LS1 Fbody !!!! Which one to buy?
Yeah need some input.. seems like the vette has more potential in styling than the fbody but they both have the same motor..Which one would be better for drag/street racing??

if the vette is in the 15-17k range , has less than 80k and is in awesome shape id take it .
other than that , scoop up a nice mid milage stock f body for 8-12k

I voted for a c5, but wanted to vote for an f-body. Get a 2002 black trans am ws6 black ws6 just look awesome better than any c5 vette. and you said you want it for the track, so f-body is cheaper to mod!

Don't make a corvette into a drag car. The fbody will do better on the track. If for the street, go with the vette. Look in the for sale section. If you're just gonna swap a motor in it, buy a roller.

I voted vette. If you don't mind paying the corvette tax, the C5 looks so much nicer and handles a lot better right out the door.
But, I personally would probably get a nice clean WS6 instead.
Yeah, I'm wishy-washy.

I had the option of ~16-20k for a vette or 16-20k for an f-body and when I was searching, I found I could get a lot better f-body with 1/4 the mileage for the same price and I'm very glad with my choice. Hope this helps, good luck!

I have always been a fan of the C5 corvette, so thats what I voted for. With that being said if this is going to be a track car or a street fighter I would definately go for the f-body.

Vette
How so. Except the no rear seat they can stow ALOT of sh*t back there That's the only difference. If you don't carry more then one other person with you and don't need the back seat then you don't need an F-Body. If you need the back seat don't get the Vette. I personally HATE to carry people with me anyway so i opted for selling my Z28 to get the Vette. Couldn't be happier except with maybe a C6 Z

just get a ram air hood, like 95% of the other T/A owners lol and I know its just my opinion, but sunoco hood Z/28 with SS spoiler trumps all.

C5 are good daily drivers, I would know. Had 2 Z06's and 4 F-body's and like the vette to drive around in. Also easier to work on engine stuff in a Vette also. And yes I agree IRS on the strip sucks, But noting a heavy duty gearbox swap with 4.10's and coils can't take care of
