I had a 98 a while back and miss the power of the car... I will have $5k saved soon and don't want to take out a loan in this economy due to uncertainty of the job market. With that said Looking for a >$5k LS1 car either auto or manual with high miles on it. I had found a SS with 140k on it for $7500 that is about the best price on a SS I found, Z28 might be more affordable. Prefer Camaro to the firebird however not ruling it out either...
what are some good deal you guys came across recently?

id say save, or get the loan if they will give you one. and if you really think you could be laid off soon, dont get a new car. and a car for $7500 will be 60kish miles and be in better condition, saving you $$$ in the end. also if money is tight wait for a m6. they can get around 30 mpg. autos get much less stock and they really need a stall which makes their mpg go way down...
oh and yeah that ss should be $5k with that kind of mileage.

I purchased this 98 for $3300 with 145k on it about 4 months ago. New fuel pump/clutch both GM parts and dealer installed. The next day I picked up these 18" wheels/tires for $300 and sold the stockers for $150. So for my old 98 Z I paid total $3450

Where are these supposed deals at? Best I could find was a 2002 Formula with 57k for 9k. It is cherry but still you guys seem to be finding Z28's for next to nothing.
BTW my Formula has steering wheel controls, but no leather.
