Default Are 4th Gen F-bods the last Great American Muscle Car?

Every sports car made since the 4th Gen F-bods has been a 4 thousand lb retro. The Big 3 are on the brink of collapse and with constantly increasing MPG regulations, companies will have to focus on mileage and not power (if they haven't already). In 20 years when I have a kid who is ready to buy his first muscle car, will a real one even exist anymore? Will the only hope of owing a muscle car be building one yourself? (And im not counting a corvette in this discussion b/c of its less affordable price and supercar status). I think this is all sad but true.

I will own my ws6 till the day I die. Every person I know, even people who aren't into cars now say they are kicking themselves for getting rid of their old muscle car they used to drive around in the 70's.
My opinion is that the 5th gen camaro will be the last greatest muscle car as well as the challenger, and mustang. Just becuase they're big and retro looking doesn't mean they aren't a muscle car.

Well let me some up "Retro": Bland, non-innovative, lack of creativity, and pig heavy

They can keep their Retro rides.

God everytime I see a new Charger, new Challenger, new mustang I want to punch babies.

I will keep my 4th gen til I die.

Only way I would get rid of my car away is if I wrapped it around a lightpole lol! As for the muscle cars I think the 5th gen will be the last of it's kind and hopefully I will own one of those too!

Untill government regs get tougher there will be muscle cars.

My 4th gen is almost a sports car though, which I feel is a step up from a muscle car. I bought this car because of the blend of skid pad and straight line and personal comfort vs price.

If you have money to spend someone will make what you are willing to spend it on!

The torque that electric motors can make is practically unlimited. The future looks bright to me.
Not worried.

in 20 years most people will be buying the hydrogen cars already being produced. so no if anything regulations should decrease. plus, our cars get 30 mpg highway (m6) so as long as gm stays around there they should be ok.

Yup, mines not going anywhere either. I remember when my dad was still here, he would always tell me about his old 70' Chevelle SS, red w/ black stripes. He would always say, he regret selling it. My dad had a **** loud of muscle car's in his lifetime lol From what i know, he had...

Oldsmobile?? I cant remember but i know he said he had 1, i forget what it was called.
70 Chevelle SS
Late 70/Early 80's Camaro
84 Corvette (wasnt able to pay it at the time)
84 Monte Carlo SS (which we still have, needs to be rebuilt though. 1 day ill get it done)
88 Corvette (same as the 84 Vette)
87 or something, Iroc Z28 (he says it was the best model Iroc that was made. idk what year exactly. my brother wrecked it after swervin to miss a dog..)
95 Z28 (totaled, he hit a stupid cow)
95 Thunderbird Sport Coupe (his last car. i used to have this before my Z28. Not really muscle but u could count it in a way with its 4.6L V8)
Bought another 84 Vette back in 04, but sold that one.

Since then, he owned trucks. Just hearing his stories and seeing how he regret selling the 70 Chevelle SS. I cant see myself ever letting the 02 35th LE SS go.
