Default Stupid kid

Back a few months ago I was headed to the Y and couldn't believe my eyes. This is what I came across when I for there, some kid from NC. Cars trashed. A buddy of mine thought it was my brother at first, but our cars are garage queens. haha I wanted to yell at the kid, and unfortunately New York uses 100% fucken salt

What if its his only car? Nothing wrong with that, maybe he only has street parking...city guys know what im talking about...bumper to bumper parking and rubbing bumpers is very common.

Yeah, it's tragic, especially cause it's a "numbered" and rare TA, but it's gonna happen. 30 years from now it will be nearly impossible to find a CETA that is a garage queen and doesn't need a possible frame off restoration. I'm looking into picking up a 77 Trans Am, and none of them are showroom condition with 100 miles on them. Take a look at nearly every 1st gen Z28. Every weekend warrior has dumped money into bringing back a 40 year old car. You cannot find one that doesn't need something done to it to bring it's glory back. From minor rust in the trunk pan to full frame off resto, that will be the story with this CETA in the future, but that's the nature of cars I guess.

ahhhghhh! It pained me to see that picture. My soul died a little.

I couldn't even imagine my CETA in that condition. I just...I don't know what else to say. It's just a shame. If it is that persons only car then they chose the WRONG daily driver for that area.

And I thought they dirty CETA in my area that had a huge bumper sticker on the back was bad.

I daily drive my SS in pittsburgh. I dont see what the big deal is. It is just a car in all reality. It is my only car, so I dont have a choice.

It's all opinion. Some people on here and that I know crap when they hear I drive my car in the rain. If it is not snowing or salty, I will drive my car rain or shine. I love driving it too much to let it sit. Salt sucks on cars, but some people I guess have no choice.

Living in New England I don't find this a very big deal? My car has looked like that plenty of times. Just wash and wax you'll be fine. My Car is pretty clean/rust free underneath also. What are you going to do to the people who live near the saltwater?

That is a good point. That is probably just as bad if not worse than living up north in the salt. I grew up in Daytona Beach, and cars would rot from the inside out because of all the salt in the air. It wouldn't matter if the car was sitting inside a garage or not.

A LT1 I bought was probably 200 Yards from the water and it was a mess underneath with only 130K

That I agree is a shame, but if thats what they wanna do. Thats why I have a cavalier, so my nice rides dont get rusty. Some people can only own or afford 1 car so thats what they do. I dont care what anybody says about " I can just wash it off". Its not that easy, salt messes things up. I do drive my GTP in the winter only if the roads are clean & dry. The camaro will never see conditions like that as long as I own it. Rain is not a big deal to me, I will drive either car but prolly the GTP cuz it does better in the rain. It seems like the CETA coupes are more rare, I mostly see verts.
