I have my 06 Z71 DD and my 99 z28 weekend warrior/ summer car/ fun toy/ whatever truth is i just dont want two car payments and two insurances anymoree i shoulda never gotten in over my head. i dont feel i NEED a pickup anymore but dont want my fbody as a dd (especially through the winter in the WI) plus i get bored and love cars enough to where i cant ever stick with one (if i could id own 100 lol) anyway point is im think i could deal with a GTO dd. it would still suck rain and snow but i can handle it. it just seems like a bit more refined of a car than my camaro. has anyone ever owned/driven both a 4th gen and a GTO? do you like one more or less how do they compare? dont get me wrong i absolutely loved both of the 4th gens ive owned but it seems i can get the newness of my truck and the fun to driveness of my camaro out of a GTO if i can only afford one.

I have daily'ed all my f-bodies. I think they make awsome dailys. While not as nice as the GTO perhaps. Still good. They are both going to suck in the snow. Just get some blizzaks and be done.

gtos are notorious for having suspension problems, you can only run a 245 wide tire and theyre heavier than ****.
but they are VERY comfortable inside! the seats fit like a glove!

sweet thanks for the input everyone i was kinda thinking the same stuff but what kind of suspension problems are we talking about? like with the indep rear? or other stuff? my only other ideas for a tear rounder up here and still getting some speed is a trailblazer ss or something (i know cant compare SUVs to cars or apples to oranges) but still theyre cool as $h!t too

the bushings are known for going bad very quickly, leaving the car sagging to the right or left.
my friends gto is lowered and sags really bad on one side so he can only run a 225 in the front, but can fit a 235 on the other side no problem. also for some reason 05-06 are known for having bad water pumps...my friends failed at 35k miles.
id personally stay away from the gtos. they dont handle that well, IRS, bad suspension from the factory and small tires are a big turn off.
trailblazer SS is a better choice IMO

the only answer is test driving the cars your interested in to make the right choice.
a lot of these oddball problems people toss around about the goat are few and far between, i have 60k miles and have none of the issues people like to go on about without a lot of firsthand knowledge. i don't know anyone personally with a gto with any issues either.
besides, a gto with a bad suspension, girl tires, a curb weight of 5500lbs, overheating and irs still drives and rides nicer than a f-body
. plus they have ran 12's, too. ha.
