Default MUST HAVES for every LS1 F-body

From my experience the following mods have really brought out the true potential of this car:

1. Bolt ons- A good lid, exhaust and free mods is an easy 30+ whp that really opens up the car

2. Gears- I have an M6 and 4.10 gears are THE best mod I have done thus far. The fun factor went through the roof.

3. Cam- Holy crap this transformed my car. I went from 333 whp to 409 whp with the Cam and tuning. If you have an LSx, upgrading the Cam is the easiest way to make big power. (well besides nitrous lol)

4. Tune- Even tuning a stock LS1 will give good gains and improve drivability. My car was tuned with HP tuners using a wideband on the street. It is ridiculous how much can be changed with tuning. Completely smoothed out my HP and TQ curve.

Feel free to add anything else as I know I have missed a couple things.

If its a 98-00 an LS6 intake is a must. I have the mods in my sig and next week will have a 226/236 cam, supporting mods, LS6 intake, and big throttle body. With the new tune and whatnot I'm shooting for 400 rwhp on stock heads! How much did the 4:10s hurt your gas mileage? I know my car is going to behave COMPLETELY different but some more mods never hurt

Konis above all else. If you don't have them on your car you don't know what your missing. I wouldn't own another fbody without at least konis...
You know that floaty, nervous feeling at high speeds? Shitty stock shocks...
The snap over steer you get when pushing the car? Shitty stock shocks...
Choppy, loose, bouncing ride quality? Shitty stock shocks...

i was wondering, if someone could describe in detail, the difference i would see in putting 410s in.. obv i have 342s now... hell if you have a video of a pull with 410s, and just bolt ons... that would work too. I just want kind of an understanding of what its going to do for me

Your in luck. I have a few videos before my cam. Just AR Lt's, gmmg, 4.10's lid. As others have said you need 4.10's in you m6. World of difference. I still get 28-29 mpg with the cam!

1) replacement shocks: any kind just not the stock crap, after 15-20k miles their toast, bilsteins, konis, what ever just change them out asap!
2) sub frame connectors: weld in or bolt on.
3) engine mods: as stated above: lids, headers, intake, cam, and a TUNE.
4) garage: store that beast behind closed doors, need I say more?

The things about this is once you do these things you want more or things start breaking. It is a never ending process that leaves you broke and with a car that rarely runs.

Isn't that the truth. Why do we do this to our selves? My friend actually asked me that the other day. I started complaining about my TA's (window motors, clutch hydraulics, opti spark etc) even spoke of selling and his response was "You'll just use the money to get another one so why bother" lol. I love these cars but I have to ask myself why. To stay on subject when I first get any car my first "mods" are new/better plugs/wires and get some good fluids (oil, diff, clutch, etc.) in her to start off with a solid base. From there we get to start breaking things.
