I am an owner of a v6 99 camaro and the car was recently sideswiped on the street, luckily it was my neighbor and he was nice enough to leave a note. So the damage is pretty bad and i should be getting a good amount of money, combined with what i saved i should be able to get an ls1 fbod...
The v6 i had returned SHITTY mpg.. it had an auto tranny nd i would average, BEST 19.5-20mpg. I was wondering what ls1 fbody owners mpg was, and what it was the M6 vs A4 in real world driving...
BTW most of my daily trip is highway

My 99 LS1 A4 with 3.73 gears and bolt-ons gets about exactly what your V6 was getting, right around 20 MPG. And thats pretty aggressive driving with a mix of about 25% city and 75% highway. When the car was bone stock and when it had the factory 2.73 gears I was knocking down 25 mpg.

If you do a search, you will find about 9 million threads on this exact topic.
The general concensus on a stock M6 is that you will get around 17-18mpg strictly city, 28-30mpg strictly highway, and around 22mpg mix.
For the stock A4, it will probably be very slightly less in all categories.

I average 18-19 MPG with mostly city driving with LS1/M6. I'd do better than that, but I tend to get on it a good bit.
Edit: I averaged 14 MPG the first couple tanks after I got my muffler (Magnaflow) installed.
