Default Finishing the car is on hold this year

I wanted to get a good set of heads and some new larger injectors to complement the cam I put in the car last spring, and also to update the wheel tire package on the car. I have a slow leak in the left rear and really wanted to go to a 11.5" rear wheel.

Both my kids need braces!! I'm looking at spending at least 8000.00 in the next few years!!! Good thing I love them so much LOL :~)

Sucks that you have to put your build on hold but its nice to see that some people still have their priority's straight.

He could compromise and get upper braces for one kid and lower braces for the other and then they can swap in a few years.

Nothing wrong with having proper priorities. Each year I make a budget on how much I can spend on my car. Unfortunately some times I have to cut corners (that's why I use "Cheap Guy" as my forum name), for example, Bilsteins instead of Koni, Magnaflow muffler instead of catback, painted stock grille instead of SLP, or I have to put things off, with the exception of safety related stuff. That's also why I try to do as much work as I can.

I get a little ticked when people call me cheap because I keep buying old cars instead of buying a brand new Camaro. The fact is that this is a toy/hobby, and I could spend $30k more and it will still be cheaper than a new car. Like you, much of my money goes to my walking tax deductions, LOL, but it's worth it in the long run (I hope).

"Walking tax deductions", I love that one. Its my fault the kids both need braces, I'm the one who as a young teen had to wear that awful head gear to get my overbite corrected. Cant hold those bad genes against them. Its funny, now my wife is saying "how important is it really to get this fixed now"? I get complements on my teeth, so now I'm the one pushing to get it going. Its true it is a toy/hobby, the old girl will get done at some point. One summer of waiting is just a drop in the bucket of time.

There are a bunch of things you can do until you can do the bigger things. When money is tight, I find a few cheap things to do like cleaning and polishing parts, or maintenance/repair/appearance items like window motors, hatch spring, clear corners, etc.

I think the main thing is to keep doing SOMETHING to your car to keep you interested.

I feel your pain.................I was out of the scene pretty much all last year.
How's it going otherwise? Does Kyle still have his Z?
Depending on the weather, I might run out to the Soda Jerk in Hummlestown on Saturday, it's their 1st cruise in for the year. It'sfrom 1-4

Does Kyle still have his Z?

No, he ended up having to sell it last fall. I know he misses it but he needed the coin to go to school. I was thinking about getting the SS out if the weather is going to be decent. Might make it over to the soda jerk, have two soccer games to attend so it's a big might lol.

As for a dental plan, I'm self employed and my wife's job doesn't offer much of a dental benefit when it comes to braces. Its all good though, I can still drive the car and enjoy it even if its not the way I want it.
