6th Generation Camaro
Anybody have an ideas what the next design may look like? I'm guessing some design cues from the 2003 Chevy SS Concept maybe and the 2nd Gen Camaro. Would be interesting to see a CAD sketch. I was really hoping to see the SS make it to production but it seems it was a design study for current models-cruze & malibu(Front ends) -Just for BS Talk

I'm willing to bet based on how they designed the "5th" gen that it will look nothing like the last 30+ years of camaros and instead further entrench itself as a new car line that is whoring off brand name recognition so that it doesn't have to build up any of it's own. Just my guess though. Also it will weigh more than the current ones, cost more and likely be nothing more than cosmetically different aside from the obvious changes to the windows to increase visibility. Blah. Let me know when they decide to actually make a camaro again. Hint. It's a hatchback coupe that's got a low profile, long nose, sweeping hood, and optionally has t-tops. It's not difficult.

I don't necessarily disagree with much of what you said, but that quote above is a bit funny. Camaro wasn't a hatchback until 1982, which leaves 15 years of original heritage as being a hardtop coupe, vs. 20 years of being a hatchback (figures not including the 5th gen). Seems like both formats have a strong place in Camaro history, IMO.

touche, so they may have the hatchback argument. But i know reboots and this is a horrible attempt at a reboot. Like re-doing batman but not having the bat connection, crime fighting, bruce wayne alter-ego or taking place in gotham, and being produced by turkish movie studios. If GM was not hell bent on ruining any hope of competing with other car companies, they would have just killed their other general public car lines and kept the G6, G8 and named this new "camaro" the G10. easy, seems more in line with the look and doesn't confuse future historians when they try to figure out how the hell you go from 90's camaro to this 2010 tank.

Given everything else going on in our modern world, I somehow doubt the major dilemma that future historians will struggle to crack is the missing link between the fourth generation and 2010 Camaros.

I'd be cool with the body staying about the same, just bring it down in overall size and weight by about 5-7%. I know that wont happen, but geeze our cars just keep getting bigger! Huge people and people with kids can buy impalas! lol, they have an SS model.

Something needs to be done. The 5th gen is too heavy and boxy in my eyes. I like that they were trying to pay homage to the original, but I think the whole old school look a likes phase is going to die soon. The next gen should look something like a better version of the 4th gen. That's even if there is going to be a 6th gen. I have been hearing rumors that they want to kill it off again and go with something else.
