Default How to drop into the 7's on the 1/8th.

I'm wanting to drop my car into the 7's on a bolt on motor if possible without spray
My car is a 01 ws6 a4
180,000 miles
stock suspensin
m/t's drag radials
lid
longtubes with offroad y and tuned

It cut's a 8.34 right now on motor. Is there anyway to drop it down in the 7's. I am guessing a stall is gonna be my only option. I have a tnt wet kit on my car iwht 100 shot right now but I would like to be able to hit 7's on motor first before i spray it.

What was your 60'? What gear?
My full weight vert. went 8.04 (1.84 60') with bolt-ons,tune and a 2600 converter & 2.73 gear. Now have 3.43 but haven't been to track. GL!

Although I refuse to do it to mine... some weight reduction and a 3600+ stall should put you easy into 7's.

My car isn't a daily driver.

What about gears.

And how much does 100 shot usually drop a car.

I see you are in AL what track do you go to? A 100 shot on a stock stall A4 car should easily drop you 3-4 tenths. Are you going to spray it off the line? If you already have the nitrous use it check the nitrous section for any questions you may have. I'm in AL too btw I go to Huntsville dragway.

For a street/strip car...I think most A4 guys would agree 3.73's and a 3600 stall. In a 1/4 mi. situation the stall alone should get you .3-.4 sec. and -100lbs = .1 sec. Check out Wallaceracing.com they have some great calculators.

if you go 100ish shot, i had stock stall and 3.23's and it allowed me to do consitant 1.8 60's with the crappy tiny street tires...

100-150 shot, 3600 stall, mickey t d/r's and some long tubes and go deep deep 7's....

Since its not your daily, im gonna say a 4000 stall will drop your 60 ft enough for high 7's and spraying 100 shot off the line might run you bottom 7's for sure..

how about you play with your launch and/or suspension. a 2.00 60' is **** at your power level and with MT's on back. play with tire pressure, get a panhard and lca's. then start paying big money for a stall etc etc.

^ this is prob the best advice on here.. with this advice you could be able to cut 1.8X 60 ft times and maybe break that 7.99 barrier

lca's ive been told would help.

I haven't even sprayed the car yet, but prolly wouldn't spray off theline.

what direction should I be looking, the car does feel a little slugish out of the hole..even if i could run a 7.99 on motor it would be awesome, just haven't seen to many headers and lid only cars do that.

what psi do you have the tires at? removed the front sway bar? what kind of burnout are you doing? are you going around the water box and backing into it?

stall will be awesome but you can spray your way to a better 60 foot till you get one imo... after you get the 60 foot down below 2.0 on motor...

Not sure on psi to be honest, front sway bar is still in and backing up pulling forward spinning them over till they smoke a tad then rolling out, the car does not spin what so ever.
